NBC Digital News engagement report
@NBCDigitalNews - 290K followers on X
Measured over 57 original posts from a 30-day window, last computed on September 6, 2026.
Engagement
A typical post picks up 4 interactions against 290K followers, an engagement rate of 0.001%. Measured over 57 original posts, its engagement rate beats 8% of 6,874 tracked accounts of a similar size. That is a reason to look at how the audience behaves - reply depth, saves, whether the followers are recent - rather than a conclusion about it on its own. Posts are seen about 1.3K times each, and 0.307% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 0.449% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 1.9 posts a day over the last 30 days, though only 7% of days saw any activity at all. Most posts go out around 18:00 UTC, and Friday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 57 posts sampled, 49% carry an image or video and 51% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 100 interactions, about 25x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #nbcdigitalnews, #nbcnews, #nbcdstv282.

Compared with accounts its own size
NBC Digital News's engagement rate beats 8% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (6,874 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 7 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.
On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 20% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.
Where this sits in the catalog
At 0.001%, NBC Digital News sits below the 10th percentile of the 66,536 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the bottom 25% band, which runs below 0.016%.

Formats this account uses
Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.
| Format | This account | Catalog effect | 95% interval | Accounts behind it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Image or video | 49% of posts | +111% | +108% to +115% | 34K |
| Outbound link | 51% of posts | -41% | -42% to -40% | 32K |
| Typical length | - | +15% | +14% to +16% | 32K |
- 49% of this account's sampled posts carry an image or video. Across the catalog, posts with an image or video run 111% above the same accounts' other posts.
- 51% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts, so a large share of this account's output sits in the weakest bucket we measure.
- Its average post runs 666 characters, which falls in the over 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts over 280 characters run 15% above the same accounts' other posts.
These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

A long-awaited dream of a fully-fledged secondary school in the Omulonga Constituency of the Ohangwena Region is becoming a reality. Construction of the Ongula Senior Secondary School has reached 70%, with the first phase expected to be completed in November. The school, located in Oshuulu Village near Ongula yaNetanga in the Otunganga Circuit, will be the first senior secondary school in Omulonga Constituency. With an estimated population of 32,000 people, Omulonga is the most populous constituency in the Ohangwena Region. The new school is expected to reduce congestion at existing schools and improve access to secondary education in the constituency. Omulonga Constituency Councillor Erickson Ndawanifa says plans for the establishment of the school date back to 2010. Once completed, the school will have 28 classrooms, a library, a science laboratory, a computer laboratory and ablution facilities, catering for learners in Grades 10 to 12. The second phase of the project will include the construction of a hostel. The construction has also created employment opportunities for the local community, with about 130 people employed so far. The Otunganga Circuit Inspector of Education, Crispin Masule, says the establishment of the school will help ease admission pressure in both the constituency and the region. The Otunganga Circuit alone has approximately 14 000 school-going children. The construction of the school began in June and is expected to be completed in two years. The Windhoek City Police Service had to release two suspected housebreakers after the homeowner refused to open a criminal case against them. Police have cautioned crime victims who are unwilling to open criminal cases against perpetrators. The City Police say this limits their ability to investigate offences and take action against suspects. The warning follows the arrest of two men, aged 23 and 25, at Goreangab Dam on Wednesday morning after they were allegedly caught attempting to break into a house. According to the City Police, the two men were cutting a chain securing the house to gain entry. However, the homeowner did not open a criminal case, even after police advised them to do so. The City Police said victims’ failure to open cases can prevent investigations from progressing and may result in suspects returning to the community without facing criminal proceedings. The Okongo Village Council has officially launched the Omaludi 4x4 Adventure Experience 2026 as part of efforts to promote tourism and stimulate the local economy. The launch took place on 3 September 2026 at the Okongo Village Council offices, with the main adventure event scheduled for 26 September 2026. The guided off-road adventure will take participants along designated 4x4 routes around Okongo before concluding with a picnic and networking session at Ombutu Camp, located about 10 kilometres from the town. The event has attracted interest from several Namibian 4x4 clubs, including the Land Cruiser Club, Empire 4x4 Group and Amarok Club. The initiative is sponsored by Pupkewitz Motors, Tulaing Group Pty, Okongo Medical Centre and Ombut Campsite. Okongo Village Council says the adventure is not a race but an opportunity to explore the area's natural beauty, promote responsible off-road driving and create business and tourism opportunities for the community. The council has invited 4x4 owners, adventure enthusiasts, businesses and members of the public to take part in the event on 26 September. Frustrations continue to mount among the Muyako residents over delays in completing the 10-kilometre Bukalo–Muyako road. Minister of Works and Transport Veikko Nekundi visited the area to assess the situation and establish the causes of the delays. He said the visit also sought to understand the challenges affecting the project and determine the best way forward to ensure its completion. Nekundi explained that the contract was awarded by the Central Procurement Board, rather than the Ministry of Works and Transport, limiting the ministry’s authority to terminate the contract. He said the ministry made a presentation in June this year requesting the termination of the contract due to the slow progress of the project. However, the request was not approved. The project was initially scheduled for completion by 25 September, but the contractor has been granted an extension and has committed to completing the road by 24 November this year. Following engagements between the ministry, contractor and other stakeholders, a revised work schedule was agreed upon to improve implementation and ensure the project is completed within the revised timeframe. Community members, however, expressed frustration over the continued delays, highlighting the impact of the incomplete road on residents and road users. Responding to the concerns, Nekundi further clarified that the contractual arrangements between the Central Procurement Board and the contractor do not allow the contract to be terminated until 90 days after the project’s scheduled completion date. The U.S. has accused the UN General Assembly of diverting attention from global challenges by adopting a resolution seeking more accurate representations of Africa and other regions on world maps. The resolution, championed by Togo, received 164 votes in favour, with the U.S. voting against and six countries abstaining. The resolution is non-binding; however, the African Union Commission says it will continue working with Togo and other UN member states and partners to support efforts for a more accurate representation of Africa and other regions. U.S. Deputy Representative to the UN Economic and Social Council Yaryna Ferencevych said the resolution distracts the UN from its core responsibilities and questioned its focus on historical map projections. The current Mercator projection or world map, developed in the 16th century by Flemish cartographer Gerardus Mercator, was designed primarily for navigation by European explorers. However, it has faced criticism over the years for making land masses near the equator, including Africa, appear smaller than their actual size. Reading these numbers
- What is NBC Digital News's engagement rate on X?
- NBC Digital News (@NBCDigitalNews) has an engagement rate of 0.001%, based on the median interactions across 57 original posts from the last 30 days against 290,372 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
- Is that a good engagement rate?
- At 0.001%, NBC Digital News sits below the 10th percentile of the 66,536 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
- Does @NBCDigitalNews have real engagement?
- Its engagement rate beats 8% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (6,874 accounts), which puts it in the bottom 10% for its size group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
- When does @NBCDigitalNews post?
- Most posts go out around 18:00 UTC, and Friday is its busiest day, at roughly 1.9 posts per day across the measured window.
