Dr. Miguna Miguna engagement report
@MigunaMiguna - 3.2M followers on X
Measured over 49 original posts from a 30-day window, last computed on August 20, 2026.
Engagement
A typical post picks up 607 interactions against 3.2M followers, an engagement rate of 0.019%. Measured over 49 original posts, its engagement rate beats 59% of 983 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. Posts are seen about 78K times each, and 0.775% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 2.45% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 2.2 posts a day over the last 30 days, though only 33% of days saw any activity at all. Most posts go out around 12:00 UTC, and Wednesday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 49 posts sampled, 35% carry an image or video, 6% are part of a thread and 6% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 5.1K interactions, about 8.5x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #socialismisthecure, #ntvtonight, #revolutionnow.

Compared with accounts its own size
Dr. Miguna Miguna's engagement rate beats 59% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (983 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 9 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.
On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 53% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.
Where this sits in the catalog
At 0.019%, Dr. Miguna Miguna sits above the 25th percentile of the 9,668 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the below the median band, which runs 0.006% to 0.046%.

Formats this account uses
Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.
| Format | This account | Catalog effect | 95% interval | Accounts behind it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Image or video | 35% of posts | +79% | +73% to +84% | 5.7K |
| Outbound link | 6% of posts | -49% | -50% to -47% | 6.0K |
| Typical length | - | +12% | +10% to +15% | 6.3K |
- 35% of this account's sampled posts carry an image or video. Across the catalog, posts with an image or video run 79% above the same accounts' other posts.
- 6% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 49% below the same accounts' other posts.
- Its average post runs 814 characters, which falls in the over 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts over 280 characters run 12% above the same accounts' other posts.
These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

Julie Gichuru and her husband Tony “Flash” Gichuru operate one of the most sophisticated state propaganda networks ever seen in Kenya. Tony channels funds to commercial activists and bloggers to advance William Ruto’s agenda, while Julie trains TikTokers and journalists in the use of manipulative pitch and tone variation designed to influence emotions and provoke a sense of revolutionary catharsis in their audiences. The distinctive, near-shouting delivery employed by Yvonne Okwara and TikToker Zulekha Godana is a direct product of Julie’s training. Tony is the son of Samuel Gichuru, the former Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) CEO who authorized a series of illegal and highly extortionate agreements with Independent Power Producers. Those contracts continue to drive up electricity costs, deter investors, and make daily life more expensive for Kenyans. The fuel-adjustment levy and foreign-exchange charges embedded in every bill or token purchase exist largely to sustain these agreements. To manufacture demand for diesel-generated power, Samuel Gichuru and Nicholas Biwott drained the Seven Forks dams and then used a compliant mainstream media to amplify reports of declining water levels. This engineered crisis triggered emergency legislation pushed through by bribed members of parliament. Tony has inherited and continues to benefit from that legacy of corruption and primitive accumulation. In Nairobi circles he is often regarded as “old money,” wealth originally extracted through the suffering and deaths of ordinary Kenyans. He now serves as an operative for the Ruto administration, maintaining key bloggers on his payroll. Each month he meets them at Cedars Hotel in Nairobi to distribute payments funneled through Kipchumba Murkomen. This predatory couple has been embedded in the system for years. Just as Samuel Gichuru worked with Daniel arap Moi to loot the country to collapse, the son now works with William Ruto, completing a generational heist. The more things change, the more they remain the same.

I think Strathmore is living proof private sector can handle higher education better in Kenya. Critics argue that it will keep out needy students but private sector can mobilize capital easily plus Strath huencourage work-study. Strath ni no. 1 uni in Kenya.

My next book will be titled THE POLITICAL ECONOMY OF UNDER-DEVELOPMENT: THE CASE STUDY OF HOW SUCCESSIVE KENYAN GOVERNMENTS TURNED LUOS INTO IMAGES OF PITY
- Aug 16, 20263.3x their median
ONLY TRUTH SHALL SET US FREE Central Kenya/Mount Kenya received the Lion’s share of development projects between 1963 to 2013. Luo Nyanza received ZERO development. It was a national government policy. ON TOP of that, after 2013, following the introduction of DEVOLUTION, Central Kenya/Mount Kenya region started receiving allocations like all other counties like Homa Bay. Consequently, one cannot expect Kiambu, Nyeri, Murang’a, Nyandarua and other Mount Kenya counties which received PREFERENTIAL treatment during Jomo Kenyatta’s, Daniel arap Moi’s, Mwai Kibaki’s and Uhuru Kenyatta’s TRIBALISTIC and INEQUITABLE regimes to be at the same level of development as Luo Nyanza counties which had received ZERO development budgets for more than 45 years. Regarding corruption: Absolutely ALL county and national governments are and have been corrupt. Without exception. Gladys Wanga is not more corrupt than Susan Kihika or Anne Waiguru, for instance. Wamatang’i is not less corrupt than James Orengo or Anyang’ Nyong’o. The only difference is that Waiguru, Kihika and Wamatang’i are governors of Mount Kenya whose region was developed at the expense of Luo Nyanza region for more than 45 years. This is like comparing Uhuru Kenyatta’s children with children of peasants in Homa Bay if those children were given Kshs 100,000 to start a livelihood. Anyone who makes such a comparison is both idiotic and dishonest. One set of children start off with TRILLIONS of LOOTED public money while the second set of children start from poverty. Similarly, William Ruto is corrupt, but he is NOT more corrupt than Jomo Kenyatta, Mwai Kibaki or Uhuru Kenyatta. IF we want to eradicate corruption, abuse of power, the culture of impunity and the inequities which have ravaged most people in Kenya for the past 60 plus years, we must stop deception, selective amnesia, hypocrisy and historical revisionism. We must tell the truth, the whole truth, nothing but the truth. Mocking and laughing at Homa Bay county and its people is insensitive, childish, tribalist and callous. Linda Bandits has exposed itself to be just another KANU, PNU, Jubilee, ODM and UDA. Its leaders have failed to legislate for the people. They have failed to oversight the national government and county governments. And for governors like Orengo who has been an MP for 50 years; a cabinet minister under the corrupt grand coalition government; and Siaya governor for 4 years, he must show us the high quality infrastructure he has built in Siaya, how he has delivered services and accounted for the tens of billions of shillings Siaya has received since 2022. The same applies to George Natembeya who was a brutal and thuggish County Commissioner under despot Uhuru Kenyatta and has been governor for Trans-Nzioa for the past 4 years. I was in Form One when Orengo was an MP. Gladys Wanga was in primary school! Let’s be serious. If the Linda Bandits were honest, they wouldn’t be wearing Raila Odinga’s images on their t-shirts while mocking a governor he imposed on the Homa Bay people. Caroli Omondi, an ODM MP, whose constituency the dusty road is in, shouldn’t be yelling at Wanga. Orengo himself was imposed by Raila as the Siaya governor. If they are serious, they must renounce Raila Odinga and stop claiming, hypocritically, that they are the embodiment of Raila’s legacy of dust. They must stop playing Raila’s songs at their functions. Let them be honest and distance themselves from Raila’s legacy. And as they do that, let them also resign from ODM and go back for fresh mandates. Only then can they claim to start afresh. Shouting WANTAM and TUTAM is not vision. It’s not a manifesto. It’s not a transformative program for the people. Only a revolution (which the Linda Bandits and UDA thugs fear) will liberate Kenya. We will deconstruct all of you 24/7 whether you wail or crawl back into your shallow intellectual caves. Telling the truth is a revolutionary act. #SocialismIsTheCure

Mr. Rigathi Gachagua @rigath pretends to be more concerned about the circumstances surrounding Raila Odinga’s and General Francis Ogolla’s deaths than he is of those surrounding his own brother, James Nderitu Gachagua’s. He believes, wrongly, that Kenyans have forgotten about his 55-year-record as a Special Branch (NIS) informer at the University of Nairobi, Moi’s brutal “Special DO”, Uhuru Kenyatta’s rotten bag man and Ruto’s mouthpiece. Speaking the truth is a revolutionary act. #RevolutionNow

James Orengo and his Linda Banditry attended Ndindi Nyoro’s unveiling of a political party yesterday. I didn’t realize until then that William Ruto, Uhuru Kenyatta and Fred Matiang’i are the ones FUNDING the two Lindas. Haven’t you wondered why Uhuru Kenyatta handpicked Caroli Omondi (who was Ruto’s classmate and lifelong bossom friend whose girlfriend works at Stste House) as the Secretary General of Azimio, to which Kalonzo Musyoka and others belong? Don’t you know that it’s Caroli Omondi who is used being used to pay for all Linda expense? Who do you think is capable of spending BILLIONS on Linda which hasn’t even been registered? What was Orengo and his cohorts doing at Ruto’s function yesterday? Is there anyone with a functioning brain who doesn’t know that Ndindi Nyoro is nothing but Ruto’s proxy? Telling the truth is a revolutionary act. #SocialismIsTheCure #SocialismIsTheSolution #RevolutionNow

WHY EDWIN SIFUNA IS WRONG Kenya is not a failed state and a country where impunity reigns because it has never had a lawyer as president. There are millions of inept, corrupt and brutal lawyers who have occupied positions of power in Kenya, Africa and the rest of the world. The judiciary has been one of the most corrupt and incompetent institutions despite being controlled and entirely led by lawyers. Lawyers are behind most fraudulent transactions at the Lands Office, at the AG Chambers, in various ministries, state corporations, universities and the private sector. What Kenya and other African countries lack isn’t the absence of lawyers or people with particular degrees in leadership positions; what is lacking is leadership with INTEGRITY operating within a transformed state, institutions and systems. Anyone stuck on “Ruto failed because he studied zoology, so I will succeed because I am a lawyer” is actually far worse than Ruto. It’s not about what you studied. It’s not about your occupation. And it certainly is not about the “software.” It is, at the root, about the structurally, architecturally, and institutionally DEFECTIVE colonial STATE, colonial INSTITUTIONS, colonial LAWS and colonial SYSTEMS, which were not designed to serve Africans. They were designed to EXTRACT, EXPLOIT and DEHUMANIZE Africans. The colonial STATE is inherently inimical to EQUITY, constitutionalism, DIGNITY and SOCIAL JUSTICE, which ought to be our ultimate collective vision for our societies. It’s also about a transformative and REVOLUTIONARY vision and INTEGRITY. Unless we focus on these things, the slogans about WANTAM, TUTAM, or any other, will continue to be nothing but clever manipulative propaganda to FORTIFY, entrench and perpetuate the unjust, inequitable and repressive colonial STATE. I would rather have standard 8 leaders with integrity who are committed revolutionaries rather than corrupt lawyers, engineers, economists, theologians, teachers, accountants, zoologists, anthropologists, politicians, political scientists, physicians or physicists with a PhD. Telling the truth is a revolutionary act. #SocialismIsTheCure #SocialismIsTheSolution #RevolutionNow

I HAVE MADE MY CONTRIBUTION; NOW, LIBERATE YOURSELF I was detained incommunicado without trial, tortured at Nyayo Torture Chambers, and expelled from the University of Nairobi in 1987 for resisting the KANU-Moi dictatorship and organizing students against one-party rule. I was only 21. I was forced into exile to Tanzania in December 1987; Swaziland in February 1988; and Canada in June 1988. I traveled on a UN passport! In 1989, we founded the Committee for Democracy in Kenya (CDK), which I coordinated from exile until Section 2A of the old Constitution was repealed and Kenya became a multi-party state. Between 1987 to 2009, successive Kenyan regimes refused to issue me with a Kenyan passport, which was my right. I returned to Kenya in 2007 and continued the struggle for social justice. On February 2nd, 2018, after founding the NRM-Kenya and organizing the Resist Movement against the Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto regime and their electoral theft, I was abducted, detained incommunicado, tortured for 6 days and forced into exile after Despot Uhuru Kenyatta, Matiang’i & Co. had illegally seized and destroyed my valid Kenyan passport. My house was bombed and destroyed! The Uhuru Kenyatta regime illegally issued Red Alerts against me, blocked me from returning to Kenya and using electronic money transfer systems. They also defied all court orders which had directed them to issue me with a passport and grant me unfettered entry into the country. Upon returning to Kenya on March 26th, 2018, after the High Court had ordered that I should be granted entry with my national identity card, I was stopped from entering the country, physically assaulted, detained and tortured in a tiny toilet at the JKIA. On March 28, 2018, Justice Odunga ordered that I should be released and NOT be removed from Kenya. On March 29, 2018, I was physically assaulted, injected with noxious substances and sedated. In defiance of the Court Order, the impunity merchants transported me to Dubai while I was unconscious and dumped me at the Dubai international airport without a passport and my personal effects. On October 20, 2022, I returned to Kenya after five years of forced exile, when the Ruto regime had issued me with a passport, which the Uhuru Kenyatta regime had illegally destroyed. I found my house in ruins and started the slow and long path of reconstruction and repairs of the damage caused by the bomb-blast. I have sacrificed and suffered torture, detentions, pain, exile and financial ruin because of my struggle against tyranny and injustice. Those who have not struggled, sacrificed or suffered for the liberation should not have the temerity to demand that I continue to suffer for them when they do nothing to liberate themselves!

- What is Dr. Miguna Miguna's engagement rate on X?
- Dr. Miguna Miguna (@MigunaMiguna) has an engagement rate of 0.019%, based on the median interactions across 49 original posts from the last 30 days against 3,190,254 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
- Is that a good engagement rate?
- At 0.019%, Dr. Miguna Miguna sits above the 25th percentile of the 9,668 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
- Does @MigunaMiguna have real engagement?
- Its engagement rate beats 59% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (983 accounts), which puts it in the middle of its size range group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
- When does @MigunaMiguna post?
- Most posts go out around 12:00 UTC, and Wednesday is its busiest day, at roughly 2.17 posts per day across the measured window.
