A typical post picks up 199 interactions against 881K followers, an engagement rate of 0.023%. Measured over 49 original posts, its engagement rate beats 47% of 3,758 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. Posts are seen about 12K times each, and 1.70% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 1.33% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 3.8 posts a day over the last 30 days, though only 33% of days saw any activity at all. Most posts go out around 10:00 UTC, and Thursday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 49 posts sampled, 94% carry an image or video and 22% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 11K interactions, about 54x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #china, #guizhou, #apec.

Compared with accounts its own size

CHINA MFA Spokesperson 中国外交部发言人's engagement rate beats 47% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (3,758 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 9 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.

On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 65% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.

Where this sits in the catalog

At 0.023%, CHINA MFA Spokesperson 中国外交部发言人 sits above the 25th percentile of the 36,378 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the below the median band, which runs 0.012% to 0.08%.

This account posts most often around 10:00 UTC, and Thursday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

China now owns the world's largest and most tunnel boring machines (TBMs). 70% of the world's total are made in China. But this dominance is hard-earned. In 1997, to build the Qinling Tunnel, China paid Germany RMB 700 million for just 2 SECONDHAND TBMs. 700 million is an entire region’s tax revenue back then. But the 700 million didn't include support. China also had to hire German engineers for €800/day (≈RMB 6,800), while the average Chinese worker earned less than RMB 4,000 a year. Back then, the global market was locked by the US, Japan, and Germany. China was being robbed, simply because it couldn't produce its own. In 2002, China began the painful journey of self-development of TBM, which has over 30,000 precision parts. After 6 years, in 2008, China's first homegrown TBM was born. In a 2012 head-to-head test, it matched the best in the world. Today, Chinese TBMs lead the world. Dignity is earned. This is just an example in TBM. In humanoid robots, in electric cars, in solar farms, in drones...China has plenty of examples that make the country strong again.

China opposes unilateral sanctions that lack basis in international law and UN Security Council mandate. Military force and pressure tactics will only lead to escalation that serves no one’s interests. We call on parties to act responsibly and solve disputes through dialogue and negotiation. #Iran

China firmly rejects the U.S. accusation of “China’s state-sponsored hacking” against U.S. government agencies. We will not accept any vilification in the name of so-called cybersecurity issues. The U.S. is yet to respond to previously disclosed NSA cyberattack on China’s National Time Service Center. Time to quit double standards and the disinformation campaign, and start acting responsibly to join the effort to tackle cybersecurity risks.

Our thoughts are with all those affected by the tragic mudslide. To the government of Nepal and its people hit by the disaster, China extends heartfelt sympathies and stands ready to assist in light of Nepal’s need. The two sides are coordinating efforts for search and rescue. According to information gathered so far, 260 foreign nationals remain missing on the Chinese side of the border. We will keep foreign embassies in China updated about these missing persons and continue the all-out rescue operation. All lives are precious, regardless of their nationalities. The Chinese embassy in Nepal is available at all hours and ready to do its utmost to assist Chinese nationals in need.

What is CHINA MFA Spokesperson 中国外交部发言人's engagement rate on X?
CHINA MFA Spokesperson 中国外交部发言人 (@MFA_China) has an engagement rate of 0.023%, based on the median interactions across 49 original posts from the last 30 days against 880,809 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
Is that a good engagement rate?
At 0.023%, CHINA MFA Spokesperson 中国外交部发言人 sits above the 25th percentile of the 36,378 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
Does @MFA_China have real engagement?
Its engagement rate beats 47% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (3,758 accounts), which puts it in the middle of its size range group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
When does @MFA_China post?
Most posts go out around 10:00 UTC, and Thursday is its busiest day, at roughly 3.83 posts per day across the measured window.
