Mosimane responds to Broos over agent and club owner claims New Bafana Bafana head coach Pitso Mosimane has responded to Hugo Broos' recent comments about agents and club owners allegedly influencing player selection. Mosimane was officially unveiled as the new Bafana head coach on Tuesday morning. The announcement was made during a press briefing at SAFA House. Broos had warned that Bafana could "go five years back in time" following his departure. The Belgian also claimed that club owners and player agents had previously tried to influence coaches over player selection. Broos said he had removed those individuals when they attempted to interfere. Mosimane, however, refused to engage in a public disagreement with his predecessor. Instead, he chose to focus on his new responsibilities as Bafana coach. "I will answer the questions related to my job, which is coaching," Mosimane said. The former Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly coach also had positive words for Broos. Mosimane said he had recognised and praised Broos' work long before his return to the national team. "I think way before I have recognised and praised Hugo Broos for what he's done," he said. "I appreciate the work Broos has done and everyone else has done before my return to Bafana Bafana." Mosimane believes Broos has left the national team in a strong position. "He has laid very good foundations for us. He has done exceptionally well," Mosimane said. He stressed that his praise for Broos was not simply because he had taken over the job. "I'm not saying it today only, I've said it before. He has put a good foundation for me." Mosimane also acknowledged the contributions of everyone who worked with Bafana before his return. He now faces the task of building on those foundations as he begins his second spell in charge of the national team.

Rosemary Ndlovu, Nomsa Mudau sentencing postponed Convicted serial killer Rosemary Ndlovu and her co-accused, former police officer Nomsa Mudau, appeared in the Kempton Park Regional Court today, Tuesday for sentencing proceedings. The pair were convicted in May of incitement to commit murder over a 2018 plot to kill Mudau's then-husband, Justice Mudau. The alleged plot failed after the would-be hitmen warned him about the plan. Sentencing has been postponed to 15 September. Ndlovu is already serving six life sentences and an additional 125 years for the murders of six family members in cases linked to insurance payouts.

Pirates cruise past Kruger to maintain perfect start Orlando Pirates continued their impressive start to the Betway Premiership season with a commanding 4-0 victory over Kruger United at Mbombela Stadium on Tuesday evening. The Buccaneers went into the match as league leaders, having collected 10 points from their opening four matches. Mbuthuma 'relieves' Ouaddou with his goals against Kruger Yanela Mbuthuma has finally lifted the weight off his shoulders and those of Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou. He did so by scoring twice in a Betway Premiership match as Pirates thrashed Kruger United 4-0 on Tuesday. The brace brought great joy to Ouaddou. The coach has continued to show faith in the young striker to deliver for the team. This came despite Mbuthuma facing heavy criticism at the start of the season for failing to make the most of his chances. However, the forward is now starting to show why Ouaddou has placed so much trust in him. In last week's MTN8 match, Mbuthuma provided two assists as Pirates beat Sekhukhune United 3-0. On Tuesday at Mbombela Stadium, he came off the bench with around 15 minutes remaining. He then scored twice to complete a convincing victory for Pirates. The result ensured that the Buccaneers remained top of the log, opening a three-point lead.
