A typical post picks up 482 interactions against 133K followers, an engagement rate of 0.364%. Measured over 8 original posts, its engagement rate beats 76% of 21,185 tracked accounts of a similar size. Comparing inside a size band matters here: engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly just re-measure the follower count. Posts are seen about 40K times each, and 1.21% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 30.0% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 2.2 posts a day over the last 30 days, though only 37% of days saw any activity at all. Most posts go out around 15:00 UTC, and Monday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 8 posts sampled, 63% carry an image or video. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 2.6K interactions, about 5.4x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #voteanc, #buildbetter, #mayihlome.

Compared with accounts its own size

Khusela Diko🇿🇦's engagement rate beats 76% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (21,185 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 8 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.

On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 46% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.

Where this sits in the catalog

At 0.364%, Khusela Diko🇿🇦 sits above the 50th percentile of the 212,805 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the above the median band, which runs 0.146% to 0.697%.

Engagement rate as a share of followers, across the 212,805 accounts we have scanned enough to measure. The axis is logarithmic, because the top and bottom of this population are about 22,448 times apart and a linear axis would flatten everything below the median into a single point.

They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

Formats this account uses

Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.

  • Its average post runs 607 characters, which falls in the over 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts over 280 characters run 15% above the same accounts' other posts.

These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

No but let’s talk about it… if Fikile Mbalula’s ANC is saying Gen’ Masemola must be held accountable, then what are they saying should happen to Senzo Mchunu who was the initiator of everything.

I think it’s important that I also put on the record that while the ANC submitted a finding on Gen Masemola, we have made NO RECOMMENDATION FOR FURTHER ACTION. We did not refer Gen Masemola’s matter for further investigation as we did to Min Mchunu and many others. We note the lapse on his side but have not recommended any further action neither does our submission in totality say he must not return to work

For clarity on the ANC’s position : That Minister’s Mchunu’s instruction was unlawful is common cause, the ANC together with other parties made this submission and it’s been accepted by the Committee as its position. We have further referred this matter to relevant authorities for investigation as findings of any criminal liability fall outside of the scope of Parliament. That was not the discussion last night, last night we focused on amongst others findings relating to Gen Masemola. In addition to having found that the Minister issued an unlawful instruction and referring this matters to relevant authorised for investigation, the ANC relied upon the Constitution Section 199(6) and the following guidance from the PSC. 2. In the first I address that we unambiguously found the Minister Mchunu issued an unlawful instruction. NB: no evidence was ever presented to the Committee that the NatCom reported the directive to halt the filling of Crime Intelligence posts to the President - only the disbandment of the PKTT. If given an unlawful instruction by a Minister, a Director-General (DG) MUST REFUSE to implement the instruction. Because public officials have a constitutional duty to act within the law, executing an illegal mandate can lead to personal accountability, irregular expenditure charges, and legal liability. According to guidelines from the Public Service Commission (PSC) and the Department of Public Service and Administration, a Director-General should take the following formal steps: Provide Advice in Writing: The DG must formally advise the Minister in writing that the instruction is legally non-compliant, outlining the specific laws, financial regulations, or policies it violates. This establishes a critical paper trail protecting the accounting officer. Seek Legal Guidance: If there is ambiguity or a dispute regarding the lawfulness of the directive, the DG should formally consult the State Law Advisers or seek guidance from the PSC. Escalate the Matter: If the Minister insists on the directive despite written warnings, the DG must escalate the issue through the proper channels. This includes notifying National Treasury (if it involves financial misconduct or irregular procurement) and ultimately escalating the matter to the President, who holds the executive authority over DG appointments and employment contracts. Utilize Whistleblower Protections: If a DG faces retaliation, suspension, or an "occupational detriment" for refusing an illegal order, they are legally protected under the Protected Disclosures Act and can approach the Labour Court for relief.

So appreciated the gesture by the Chairperson of @ParliamentofRSA's Portfolio Committee on Communications and Digital Technologies, @KhuselaS, of coming to the funeral service of @African_Spring. She was willing to put political differences aside - plus the fact that her and Welekazi did not necessarily see eye to eye on many issues - and instead demonstrate outstanding leadership and friendship. The Chair was joined by my DA colleague on the committee, Tsholofelo Motshidi-Bodlani MP (@HopeAli64803688), and fellow DA MP @MzamoBilly. Friends in times of need are friends indeed. Ngiyabonga!!

What is Khusela Diko🇿🇦's engagement rate on X?
Khusela Diko🇿🇦 (@KhuselaS) has an engagement rate of 0.364%, based on the median interactions across 8 original posts from the last 30 days against 132,590 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
Is that a good engagement rate?
At 0.364%, Khusela Diko🇿🇦 sits above the 50th percentile of the 212,805 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
