Thanked the organisation for continued humanitarian interventions in Kenya and across the region. Joined His Majesty King Letsie III of the Kingdom of Lesotho for a high-level strategic and diplomatic dialogue on food and nutrition resilience in Africa, held in Nairobi under the theme, 'Investing in Durable Solutions for Food and Nutrition Security in Africa.' Representing the Government of Kenya, I underscored Africa's immense agricultural potential while noting that climate change, recurrent droughts and floods continue to threaten food security. I emphasized that lasting solutions require integrated approaches that strengthen climate adaptation, water security, livelihoods and health. I called for increased investment through innovative financing, stronger public-private partnerships and closer collaboration among governments, development partners, financial institutions, humanitarian agencies and local communities to transform food systems and accelerate progress towards Zero Hunger in Africa. The dialogue also showcased investments in sustainable food and nutrition security, including community-based initiatives by the Kenya Red Cross Society. Kenya remains committed to working with the African Union, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and other partners to advance sustainable, long-term solutions to food insecurity across the continent. The meeting was attended by Somalia's Ambassador to Kenya, H.E. Jabril Ibrahim Abdulle; the British High Commissioner to Kenya, H.E. Matt Baugh OBE; the Secretary General of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Mr Jagan Chapagain; the Kenya Red Cross Society leadership led by Dr. Ahmed Idris; alongside representatives from government, diplomatic missions, development partners, civil society and the private sector.
