Early reading. We have captured 1 original post for this account, below the 8 we require before treating a median as settled. The numbers above describe what we have seen so far, not a finished profile of the account.

A typical post picks up 109 interactions against 452K followers, an engagement rate of 0.024%. Posts are seen about 15K times each, and 0.743% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 3.24% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 0.03 posts a day over the last 30 days, though only 3% of days saw any activity at all. Most posts go out around 09:00 UTC, and Saturday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 1 posts sampled, 100% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 3.1K interactions, about 29x its own typical post. Only 1 original post have been captured so far, fewer than the 8 posts we want behind a median before treating it as settled. Read the figures above as an early measurement of this account, not as a finished profile of it.

Engagement rate as a share of followers, across the 36,654 accounts we have scanned enough to measure. The axis is logarithmic, because the top and bottom of this population are about 106,977 times apart and a linear axis would flatten everything below the median into a single point.

Posting timing

This account posts most often around 09:00 UTC, and Saturday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

My little brother Peter died on Tuesday. He bore a horrible illness with bravery and dignity. He saw life as a stage on which he could make people laugh. One of a kind. Died without an enemy in the world. Love to his dear wife Nora.

My family bought tickets for Man Utd/Brentford at Old Trafford as a present for me. Been a United fan since 1963 but never visited. From SA its a v tight schedule. Now its been moved from Sat pm to Mon night! All because of TV money. So disappointed for me & other visiting fans.

Sad about Clem Sunter. A marvellous person, deeply loved SA, & educated us all. The worst dressed guest I ever had on 702 but amongst the very top in terms of quality. At Oxford he was in a band that shared top billing with the Rolling Stones. He was so proud of that! Hamba Kahle

Yesterday we broke down on Republic. I called the AA. The call system took a few minutes but I finally got hold of Sipho. He told me I would be helped soon. In 30mins Thomas arrived with a flat bed and in no time we were home. Service was magnificent! Many thanks @AASouthAfrica

SA is still not the tourist destination it should be. We have unique attractions, wonderful weather, people and a good exchange rate. Increased tourism creates jobs like no other industry. Soon I will be putting money where my mouth is and getting involved. Watch this space!

As our tennis courts, more and more, seem to make way for Padel and Pickleball, great to see a young South African from St Stithians win the Aussie Open Boys doubles with his Bulgarian partner. Congrats to Connor Doig and, also, well done on a very gracious winners speech.

Nice that Fifa spends a minute thinking of fire victims in Spain and poor Jayden Adams, RIP, but surely a mention of the innocent victims in Gaza, Ukraine and Sudan might just have been worth a mention? Or would that have devalued Trump’s FIFA Peace prize?
