El próximo miércoles 2 de septiembre comienza en Lorca el nuevo juicio contra los responsables de la granja porcina de los hermanos Carrasco que suministraba a El Pozo, que investigó Jordi Évole y su equipo de Salvados junto a Igualdad Animal y fueron emitidas en 2018 en el programa “Stranger Pigs”. Igualdad Animal ejercemos como acusación popular y les acusamos por 14 delitos de maltrato animal y solicitamos hasta tres años de prisión. La emisión del programa “Stranger Pigs” supuso uno de los momentos de mayor exposición pública de la realidad que viven los animales explotados en la industria ganadera de nuestro país. Las imágenes permitieron que millones de personas vieran a los animales no como cifras de producción, sino como individuos y la realidad que viven: cerdos enfermos, heridos, sin recibir atención veterinaria e incuso canibalismo. Hoy ha quedado visto para sentencia el juicio a los dueños de la granja de cerdos que suministraba a @ElPozoAlimenta y que grabamos junto a Jordi Évole y su equipo de Salvados. Hoy han declarado los peritos veterinarios y se ha realizado el visionado de las imágenes de la granja emitidas en el programa de Salvados. El informe pericial del juzgado y el presentado por Igualdad Animal coinciden en señalar la existencia de maltrato por omisión. Por el contrario, el peritaje aportado por la defensa afirma que no puede concluirse si dicho maltrato llegó a producirse. Ahora solo queda esperar que la jueza dicte sentencia. El ministro @LuisPlanas que dejó que más de un millón de patos fueran alimentados a la fuerza cada año en España, ahora quiere dirigir la FAO, la agencia de la ONU que define los estándares alimentarios globales. Durante su mandato: → En 2021 se aprobó un Real Decreto que prevé el desarrollo de una norma específica de bienestar para patos y ocas. Más de cuatro años después, esa norma sigue pendiente. → En 2024, el Gobierno respondió al Parlamento que no tenía previsto impulsar nuevas medidas legislativas sobre alimentación forzada. Y consideró suficiente el sistema de inspecciones oficiales. → Los datos muestran que esas inspecciones son mínimas y, pese a ello, el Gobierno ha confirmado que no prevé aumentar su cobertura. → En noviembre de 2025, el Congreso aprobó un estudio técnico sobre alimentación forzada con el voto favorable del PSOE.
