A typical post picks up 7 interactions against 375K followers, an engagement rate of 0.002%. Measured over 9 original posts, its engagement rate beats 7% of 3,899 tracked accounts of a similar size. That is a reason to look at how the audience behaves - reply depth, saves, whether the followers are recent - rather than a conclusion about it on its own. Posts are seen about 3.0K times each, and 0.233% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 0.8% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 0.43 posts a day over the last 30 days, though only 27% of days saw any activity at all. Most posts go out around 12:00 UTC, and Monday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 9 posts sampled, 100% carry an image or video and 11% are part of a thread. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 97 interactions, about 14x its own typical post.

Compared with accounts its own size

IPOA's engagement rate beats 7% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (3,899 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 6 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.

On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 13% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.

Where this sits in the catalog

At 0.002%, IPOA sits above the 10th percentile of the 37,856 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the bottom 25% band, which runs below 0.012%.

IPOA Vice Chairperson, Anne Wanjiku and CEO, Elema Halake yesterday participated in the Local Project Appraisal Committee (LPAC) meeting for the UN Support to the 2027 Kenya Elections Project held at the Pullman Hotel, Nairobi. The meeting reviewed the proposed SECURE-Elections Kenya Project, a multi-partner initiative aimed at strengthening electoral governance, conflict prevention, information integrity, and inclusive participation ahead of the 2027 General Election. During the discussions, the Vice Chairperson and CEO emphasized the critical role of the Independent Policing Oversight Authority (IPOA) in promoting accountability, protecting human rights, and fostering public confidence throughout the electoral cycle. He further underscored that IPOA's mandate is relevant before, during, and after elections, particularly in monitoring police conduct, addressing complaints arising from electoral operations, and supporting efforts aimed at preventing electoral violence and safeguarding citizens' rights. The Vice Chairperson and CEO also highlighted the growing concern of organized goonism and politically instigated violence during election periods, stressing the need for strengthened accountability mechanisms and coordinated interventions to mitigate emerging security risks. The LPAC meeting brought together representatives from government institutions, development partners, civil society organizations, and United Nations agencies to review and provide input on the project before its finalization and implementation. ^GM

Reading these numbers

A typical post picks up 7 interactions against 375K followers, an engagement rate of 0.002%. Measured over 9 original posts, its engagement rate beats 7% of 3,899 tracked accounts of a similar size. What is IPOA's engagement rate on X?
IPOA (@IPOA_KE) has an engagement rate of 0.002%, based on the median interactions across 9 original posts from the last 30 days against 375,164 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
Is that a good engagement rate?
At 0.002%, IPOA sits above the 10th percentile of the 37,856 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
Does @IPOA_KE have real engagement?
Its engagement rate beats 7% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (3,899 accounts), which puts it in the bottom 10% for its size group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
When does @IPOA_KE post?
Most posts go out around 12:00 UTC, and Monday is its busiest day, at roughly 0.43 posts per day across the measured window.
