A typical post picks up 255 interactions against 659K followers, an engagement rate of 0.039%. Measured over 54 original posts, its engagement rate beats 54% of 4,124 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. Posts are seen about 11K times each, and 2.35% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 1.64% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 1.9 posts a day over the last 30 days, with activity on roughly 70% of days. Most posts go out around 15:00 UTC, and Thursday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 54 posts sampled, 87% carry an image or video and 15% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 5.9K interactions, about 23x its own typical post.

Compared with accounts its own size

Irungu Kang'ata's engagement rate beats 54% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (4,124 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 8 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.

On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 74% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.

Where this sits in the catalog

At 0.039%, Irungu Kang'ata sits above the 25th percentile of the 39,924 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the below the median band, which runs 0.013% to 0.082%.

Posting timing

This account posts most often around 15:00 UTC, and Thursday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

HOMA BAY VIOLENCE AGAINST LINDA MWANANCHI MUST END For 30+ years since 1992, Kenyans have fought, bled, and voted for one principle: *that power belongs to the people, and that no Kenyan should be beaten for speaking.* We therefore condemn in the strongest terms the violence against _Linda Mwananchi_ in Homa Bay. What we witnessed was not policing. *It was sponsored brutality.* The culprits were _goons allowed to operate with impunity_, in full view, while those sworn to protect citizens stood by. When the State outsources violence to civilians and gives them immunity, it has abandoned the Constitution and declared war on its own people. This is the same playbook we rejected in the 1990s. The same playbook that gave us Saba Saba, that gave us detention without trial, that gave us 2007. Kenya did not struggle for multiparty democracy so that in 2026 citizens can be attacked for demanding accountability. *Article 37*: Right to assemble. *Article 29*: Right to security of person. *Article 244*: Police must be impartial and respect human rights. All were violated in Homa Bay. Our Demand 1. *Arrest and prosecute* both the goons and the public officials who enabled them to operate with impunity. 2. *Disband any shadow units* or political militias being used against citizens. 3. *Immediate release* of all _Linda Mwananchi_ members arrested for peaceful assembly. To Government: A Reminder on Power A good government must exercise power *as if its worst enemy is holding it tomorrow.* That means: follow the law to the letter. Document everything. Respect rights even when you disagree. Because the standards you set today will be used against you when you are out of office. If you normalize goons today, do not cry when goons are used against you tomorrow. Power is temporary. The Constitution is permanent. To the people of Homa Bay and all of Kenya: Your right to organize, to protest, and to " Linda mwananchi" is not a crime. It is patriotism.

What is Irungu Kang'ata's engagement rate on X?
Irungu Kang'ata (@HonKangata) has an engagement rate of 0.039%, based on the median interactions across 54 original posts from the last 30 days against 659,223 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
Is that a good engagement rate?
At 0.039%, Irungu Kang'ata sits above the 25th percentile of the 39,924 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
Does @HonKangata have real engagement?
Its engagement rate beats 54% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (4,124 accounts), which puts it in the middle of its size range group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
When does @HonKangata post?
Most posts go out around 15:00 UTC, and Thursday is its busiest day, at roughly 1.9 posts per day across the measured window.
