A typical post picks up 170 interactions against 3.2M followers, an engagement rate of 0.005%. Measured over 51 original posts, its engagement rate beats 37% of 3,774 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. Posts are seen about 95K times each, and 0.179% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 3.00% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 5.3 posts a day over the last 30 days, with activity on roughly 60% of days. Most posts go out around 01:00 UTC, and Friday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 51 posts sampled, 90% carry an image or video and 8% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 12K interactions, about 73x its own typical post.

Compared with accounts its own size

Former Congressman Matt Gaetz's engagement rate beats 37% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (3,774 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 10 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.

On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 17% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.

Where this sits in the catalog

At 0.005%, Former Congressman Matt Gaetz sits above the 10th percentile of the 36,654 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the bottom 25% band, which runs below 0.012%.

This account posts most often around 01:00 UTC, and Friday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

As many of you know, and my millions of followers have seen, Matt Gaetz has spent the last several weeks relentlessly posting lie after lie about me and my views.  He is a disgraced individual and a truly awful person.  I supported the release of his ethics report, which is filled with evidence of vile and disgusting conduct.  If he had not resigned, he would have been expelled.  I opposed his nomination for attorney general.  He quickly withdrew.  So, he is angry and obsessed.  He's a truly repulsive individual who has done unconscionable things. He has no remorse and no shame.  He has never apologized to the people he harmed let alone acknowledged them in a human way. I have decided there is simply no purpose in responding to him.  It simply feeds his pathology.  The facts and the truth do not matter to him.  And I do not want to spend another minute dealing with his smears and obsessions.  There is too much real work to do and too many hugely consequential battles ahead.  He's a pointless distraction to too many.  Therefore, I will do my best to ignore him.  Good people will know who is who and what is what.

There have been numerous reports that misrepresent the facts surrounding an AHCA settlement agreement that has been available to the public for two years. Understanding this is political season and there may be a tendency to misrepresent the facts, it is important to clarify three points: 1. The Centene settlement agreement was negotiated by AHCA, a Florida healthcare agency. The AHCA negotiated agreement made clear how settlement money would be dispersed, to include funds going to Hope Florida. 2. As is standard practice, and would be expected, the AG’s Office was one of multiple agencies that signed the final agreement for execution and release of claims. 3. The AG’s office had no knowledge of how funds would be spent or played any role in how Hope Florida, AHCA, or the legislature would spend the settlement money. Attempts to characterize this any other way are disingenuous.

Reading these numbers

What is Former Congressman Matt Gaetz's engagement rate on X?
Former Congressman Matt Gaetz (@FmrRepMattGaetz) has an engagement rate of 0.005%, based on the median interactions across 51 original posts from the last 30 days against 3,154,470 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
Is that a good engagement rate?
At 0.005%, Former Congressman Matt Gaetz sits above the 10th percentile of the 36,654 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
Does @FmrRepMattGaetz have real engagement?
Its engagement rate beats 37% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (3,774 accounts), which puts it in the middle of its size range group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
When does @FmrRepMattGaetz post?
Most posts go out around 01:00 UTC, and Friday is its busiest day, at roughly 5.3 posts per day across the measured window.
