Con relación a la versión periodística que refiere la existencia de una bodega de restos humanos sin los cuidados ni protocolos necesarios, la #FGR aclara que dicha información es falsa. La institución cuenta con una Osteoteca, como parte del Centro Federal Pericial Forense, que está debidamente estructurada y compuesta con el espacio suficiente para almacenar indicios en reducción esquelética. Los indicios resguardados están debidamente embalados, rotulados y señalados con el número de control interno correspondiente; de igual forma, guardan el orden en su almacenamiento y cada uno cuenta con su Registro de Cadena de Custodia para el control de trazabilidad. Este último registro no se encuentra dentro de la Osteoteca, ya que está en resguardo y se otorga a los peritos al momento de su intervención. En este espacio, el cual es de acceso restringido, también se encuentra resguardada herramienta y/o materiales de trabajo de la especialidad de arqueología que sirven a las diligencias de búsqueda, localización y recuperación de indicios biológicos.
