Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office engagement report
@FCDOGovUK - 1.1M followers on X
Measured over 24 original posts from a 30-day window, last computed on September 1, 2026.
Engagement
A typical post picks up 324 interactions against 1.1M followers, an engagement rate of 0.03%. Measured over 24 original posts, its engagement rate beats 51% of 3,862 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. Posts are seen about 34K times each, and 0.94% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 3.24% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 2.6 posts a day over the last 30 days, with activity on almost every day in the window. Most posts go out around 10:00 UTC, and Thursday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 24 posts sampled, 96% carry an image or video and 17% are part of a thread. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 3.2K interactions, about 10x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #colombia, #falklandsday, #gaza.

Compared with accounts its own size
Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office's engagement rate beats 51% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (3,862 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 9 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.
On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 49% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.
Where this sits in the catalog
At 0.03%, Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office sits above the 25th percentile of the 37,350 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the below the median band, which runs 0.012% to 0.081%.

Ukraine's fight is our fight. The UK is taking further action against Russia, with new sanctions targeting those behind the Kremlin's war effort. We will continue increasing pressure on Russia for as long as it takes. https://t.co/6UOgXKhjZo

A horrible and sleepless night in Kyiv. This was one of the most brutal Russian attacks to date, with ballistic missiles raining down on our capital one after another. At least 12 people were killed in Kyiv, and one more in the Kyiv region. A school, a children’s hospital, and residential buildings were severely damaged. Russia also attacked Chernihiv and Odesa regions. With such horrific war crimes Putin wants to demonstrate complete impunity. Each Russian ballistic missile is an act of barbarism. And each interceptor delivered to Ukraine is an act of humanity and saved human lives. We know partners who can deliver these interceptors, and we urge them once again to act without delay. Every delay is measured in human lives. We are informing all states and international organizations of the consequences of this attack, and we urge them to take immediate, concrete steps to intensify pressure on Russia and bolster support for Ukraine. I urge Ukrainians abroad to take action. We are calling on the Ukrainian World Congress, as well as all Ukrainian organizations and communities in key capitals and around the world, to raise their voices now. We call for three critical measures to protect human lives: - Deliver air defense: Transfer or sell additional interceptors and air defense systems to Ukraine. - Tighten sanctions: Increase sanctions pressure to cripple Russia’s ability to manufacture these instruments of terror. - Build defense capabilities: Partner with Ukraine to develop anti-ballistic capabilities.

During last night’s russian attacks on Kyiv, Lithuania’s Embassy was also damaged. Missiles struck just meters from the Embassy. Fortunately, our staff did not suffer. Today, Lithuanian MFA will summon the russia’s representative in Vilnius. Russia’s campaign of terror against Ukraine continues without limits. There is no sign of any genuine willingness to stop it, to seek peace or engage in negotiations. The Kremlin’s objective remains the same: destruction, death and intimidation. The response is clear: increase pressure on Russia through stronger sanctions and step up support for #Ukraine.

- What is Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office's engagement rate on X?
- Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (@FCDOGovUK) has an engagement rate of 0.03%, based on the median interactions across 24 original posts from the last 30 days against 1,064,024 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
- Is that a good engagement rate?
- At 0.03%, Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office sits above the 25th percentile of the 37,350 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
- Does @FCDOGovUK have real engagement?
- Its engagement rate beats 51% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (3,862 accounts), which puts it in the middle of its size range group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
- When does @FCDOGovUK post?
- Most posts go out around 10:00 UTC, and Thursday is its busiest day, at roughly 2.63 posts per day across the measured window.
