A typical post picks up 358 interactions against 4.0M followers, an engagement rate of 0.009%. Measured over 132 original posts, its engagement rate beats 32% of 21,185 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. Posts are seen about 30K times each, and 1.20% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 0.745% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 8 posts a day over the last 30 days, with activity on almost every day in the window. Most posts go out around 13:00 UTC, and Tuesday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 132 posts sampled, 100% carry an image or video and 76% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 11K interactions, about 31x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #fbi, #icymi, #newsalert.

Compared with accounts its own size

FBI's engagement rate beats 32% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (21,185 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 10 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.

On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 52% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.

Where this sits in the catalog

At 0.009%, FBI sits above the 10th percentile of the 212,146 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the bottom 25% band, which runs below 0.025%.

Formats this account uses

Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.

  • 100% of this account's sampled posts carry an image or video. Across the catalog, posts with an image or video run 111% above the same accounts' other posts.
  • 76% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts, so a large share of this account's output sits in the weakest bucket we measure.
  • Its average post runs 457 characters, which falls in the over 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts over 280 characters run 15% above the same accounts' other posts.

These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

CASE UPDATE from @FBIPortland: Man Posing as San Francisco 49er Charged with Defrauding Over Two Dozen Women Out of More than $1.3 Million Beginning in February 2022, Daejon Labrayae Love, 35, and Taylor Jamie Chan, 18, created fictitious investments to defraud numerous women in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and California. Love met most of the women on the internet through dating apps. Love falsely portrayed himself as legitimately wealthy, often as an NFL player for the San Francisco 49ers or as a wealthy real estate investor. Chan falsely posed as Love’s financial adviser to further gain their victims’ trust. The scheme lasted until the day of Love and Chan’s arrests on August 24. The FBI continues to warn about two critical security flaws in PHP, a programming language used to build many websites and online services. Attackers could exploit these vulnerabilities to break into systems, putting sensitive information and business operations at risk. Security updates are available and should be applied immediately. If you are a business owner or website operator, check whether your systems are affected. Contact your IT support team, website developer, or hosting provider for help identifying vulnerable systems and applying the necessary updates. The FBI urges organizations to take the following steps now: ➡️ If an immediate update is not feasible it is recommended that organizations take the system offline until it can be fully mitigated. ➡️ Immediately update affected PHP installations following the guidance on https://t.co/JFOW6jG9Ws. Inventory where PHP runs in your environment, prioritizing internet-facing systems and vendor products that bundle PHP. ➡️ Monitor web servers for suspicious activity, including PHP processes unexpectedly launching command shells or downloading files. Ensure appropriate process-monitoring capabilities are in place to help identify potential exploitation. ➡️ If you find signs of compromise, isolate affected systems, preserve your web server and PHP logs, and report it to your local FBI field office or https://t.co/ZWC7Se2YdU. Those reports help us identify the actors involved and warn other organizations before they become victims. For the latest information on these vulnerabilities (CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619), follow PHP’s announcements on https://t.co/JFOW6jG9Ws, CERT-EU Security Advisory 2026-018, and CISA’s Known Exploited Vulnerabilities catalog.

The FBI is adding another Most Wanted Fugitive to our Top Ten list, after the recent historic success of Ten Most Wanted manhunts – EIGHT captures in 18 months , TWICE as many as the total number captured in the previous four years combined.   Today’s announced subject: GREGORY HENDERSON, JR. – on the run since September of 2025 – wanted for his alleged involvement in drug trafficking and animal fighting conspiracies as the alleged leader of a violent neighborhood-based gang located in Indianapolis, Indiana.   The gang is affiliated with the Gangster Disciples – which has significant drug distribution ties to the Sinaloa Cartel.   Henderson, Jr. was allegedly involved in the distribution of a variety of narcotics to include cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine into the Indianapolis community as well as the surrounding Midwest region. He was also allegedly engaged in a dog fighting criminal enterprise that resulted in the severe abuse and death of numerous dogs.   Henderson Jr. has been charged with Conspiracy to Possess with Intent to Distribute and to Distribute Controlled Substances, Conspiracy to Launder Monetary Instruments, and Conspiracy to Engage in an Animal Fighting Venture.   This case is led out of @FBIIndianapolis – and the @FBI is offering a reward of $1 million for information leading to Henderson Jr.’s arrest. What is FBI's engagement rate on X?
FBI (@FBI) has an engagement rate of 0.009%, based on the median interactions across 132 original posts from the last 30 days against 4,001,028 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
Is that a good engagement rate?
At 0.009%, FBI sits above the 10th percentile of the 212,146 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
Does @FBI have real engagement?
Its engagement rate beats 32% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (21,185 accounts), which puts it in the middle of its size range group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
When does @FBI post?
Most posts go out around 13:00 UTC, and Tuesday is its busiest day, at roughly 8 posts per day across the measured window.
