A typical post picks up 182 interactions against 184K followers, an engagement rate of 0.099%. Measured over 18 original posts, its engagement rate beats 59% of 20,444 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. Posts are seen about 3.1K times each, and 5.86% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 1.70% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 0.6 post a day over the last 30 days, with activity on roughly 57% of days. Most posts go out around 05:00 UTC, and Wednesday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 18 posts sampled, 94% carry an image or video. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 628 interactions, about 3.5x its own typical post.

Compared with accounts its own size

bar ifeanyi ejiofor's engagement rate beats 59% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (20,444 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 9 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.

On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 90% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.

Where this sits in the catalog

At 0.099%, bar ifeanyi ejiofor sits above the 25th percentile of the 208,041 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the below the median band, which runs 0.025% to 0.144%.

AN URGENT NATIONAL SECURITY ALARM TO PETER OBI: HOW MANY MORE CASUALTIES BEFORE YOU SPEAK OUT? Dear Peter Obi, I regret having to address you publicly on these grave, life-threatening developments, but the urgency of this moment demands your immediate, unequivocal, and decisive intervention. 1. The 2027 General Election is approaching, yet the campaign period has not fully commenced. Disturbingly, reports of violent attacks and casualties involving members of your party have already emerged from different jurisdictions, raising grave concerns about the safety of political actors. We have also received reports of bloody casualties arising from the reported attack on members of the NDC in Enugu State. 2. These incidents have been alleged to involve more than ordinary street criminals, with accusations implicating identifiable members of the APC. Such allegations demand urgent, impartial investigation and accountability. 3. In Edo State, reports have attributed to the APC State Chairman a threat to bite your face whenever he sets his eyes on you. If accurately reported, such language is utterly reprehensible and should not be dismissed as harmless political rhetoric. 4. More alarming is the reported persistence of these threats and the apparent continuation of violent incidents. When threats become normalised and violence goes unpunished, the danger to public safety escalates. 5. Nigerians are not oblivious to the provisions of the Electoral Act and other applicable laws against electoral violence. Yet, where enforcement is perceived to be selective, public confidence in the impartiality of law enforcement is gravely undermined. No political affiliation should confer immunity from accountability. 6. Although I am neither involved in, nor seeking involvement in, partisan political activities, your position as the presidential flag bearer of your party places a solemn responsibility upon you to speak out forcefully and publicly against this disturbing trend, particularly the unabated attack against your party faithfuls. This is no longer merely a party concern; it is a threat to peaceful political participation and potentially to national security. 7. You cannot afford to remain silent in pursuit of political sanctimony while your supporters face a threats and violence. You must not wait until dozens have been killed before sounding the alarm. Preventive action is infinitely better than belated lamentation over avoidable deaths. 8. You must rise to the grave responsibilities of your position, urgently engage the relevant authorities, and demand credible guarantees for the safety of your members and other political actors. If these challenges are not confronted decisively, you must seriously reconsider how best to discharge your leadership responsibilities. 9. Politics is not for the faint-hearted; nevertheless, courage must never be confused with recklessness. You must demonstrate firm, strategic, and lawful leadership to protect your people and defend their constitutional right to participate freely in the democratic process. 10. I once again raise this alarm: if this frightening pattern of political violence is not contained at this early stage, the day may come when Nigerians will be too afraid to attend campaign rallies, travel to political gatherings, or even exercise their right to vote. That would be a catastrophic indictment of our democracy and a perilous warning for Nigeria’s political future. ENOUGH MUST BE ENOUGH! The sanctity of human life must never be sacrificed on the altar of political ambition. The relevant authorities must act before threats become tragedies and before preventable bloodshed plunges the 2027 electoral process into a crisis of national proportions. @EjioforBar 11 October, 2026

MONDAY MUSINGS AN ENDURING LEGACY OF GRACE, SERVICE AND PROFESSIONAL STEWARDSHIP : THE OFFICIAL UNVEILING OF THE REGIONAL HEADQUARTERS OF I. C. EJIOFOR & CO. (UGOCHINYERE CHAMBERS), ASABA, DELTA STATE When divine grace follows a man, it often appears as though he alone has been singled out for generational favour and uncommon blessings. Yet, one enduring truth must never be forgotten: a man who walks in the path of his divine mandate and heavenly anointing is never in competition with anyone. His journey is uniquely ordered by God, and his victories are measured not against men, but against the fulfilment of divine purpose. Our entrance into the Big Heart State was heralded by unprecedented accomplishments, remarkable professional milestones, outstanding victories, and an unwavering commitment to the faithful discharge of our professional responsibilities with honesty, integrity, sincerity, and the fear of God. Following the overwhelming confidence reposed in our Chambers, the remarkable successes recorded over the years, and the increasing demand for our professional legal services, it has pleased the Almighty God to enlarge our coast and expand our frontiers across the South-South, South-East, and, by extension, the South-West regions of Nigeria. It is with profound gratitude to God that we unveil this magnificent edifice, which shall henceforth serve as the Regional Office of the esteemed Chambers of I. C. EJIOFOR & CO. (UGOCHINYERE CHAMBERS), strategically situated in the heart of Asaba, Delta State. We have never been given to speaking where God has not first spoken. We understand that promotion comes neither from the east nor from the west, but from the Lord alone. Because it can only be Him—ever faithful to His promises and steadfast in the fulfilment of His Word. He has graciously chosen this moment to reward years of sacrifice in the service of humanity. The journey has not been without enormous cost. It has been marked by immeasurable sacrifices, unquantifiable losses, life-threatening encounters, and countless moments in which death came perilously close, all in the course of our professional engagements and unwavering commitment to justice and service. Yet, through every season and every challenge, God remained faithful. Indeed, it can only be God. Today, I most profoundly salute our indefatigable team of exceptionally erudite legal practitioners in chambers, and our dedicated non-legal staff, whose commitment, diligence, loyalty, and unwavering support have transformed this vision into reality. Your invaluable contributions to the continued growth and success of our Chambers shall never be forgotten. I remain eternally grateful. I equally extend my deepest appreciation to my beloved family, whose steadfast prayers, remarkable endurance, immeasurable sacrifices, and unwavering encouragement have remained an unshakable pillar throughout this journey. My heartfelt gratitude also goes to my formidable Ezigbo Umuchineke, whose unfailing love, unwavering support, and abiding faith have continued to inspire strength and resilience in every season. To our ever-growing clientele, I express profound appreciation for the confidence, trust, and belief you have consistently reposed in our professional competence. Your continued support has contributed immeasurably to this significant milestone, and for that, we remain sincerely grateful. Above all, and most importantly, we return all glory, honour, adoration, and thanksgiving to the Almighty God—the Alpha and the Omega, the Great I AM, the Author and Finisher of our faith, the Mighty Man of War, the Beginning and the End—for yet another remarkable milestone. Truly, it can only be God. To Him alone be all the glory for His endless mercies, unmerited favour, divine protection, unfailing grace, preservation of life, abundant blessings upon my family and our Chambers, and for continually prospering the works of our hands beyond human comprehension. With hearts full of gratitude, we say: Thank You, Lord. Thank you all for being part of this remarkable journey. May God Almighty richly bless you all. MONDAY MUSINGS WHEN THE EAR REJECTS WISDOM, THE HEAD PAYS THE ULTIMATE PRICE THE UNAVOIDABLE COLLAPSE OF PERSONALITY CULTS: DISSECTING THE ILLUSION OF LANDLORD-TENANT AND EMPLOYER-EMPLOYEE RELATIONSHIPS IN A SELF-DETERMINATION MOVEMENT: THE INHERENT AND INALIENABLE POWER OF THE PEOPLE TO RESCUE A SINKING SHIP The above-captioned subject resonates profoundly with the timeless Igbo adage that teaches that whenever the ear rejects wisdom, the head inevitably bears the consequence. It is one of life’s enduring ironies: when mortals begin to play God, they eventually encounter the limitations of their humanity. Indeed, when one man gradually becomes the movement itself, when dissent is criminalized, criticism demonized, and accountability extinguished, the inevitable collapse of a personality cult becomes not a possibility but a certainty. Any movement, organisation, or project in which a single individual arrogates unto himself the purported absolute power to determine the destiny of hundreds of thousands or even millions of unsuspecting followers through deception, manipulation, intimidation, blackmail, false doctrines, and calculated fraud is already laying the foundation for its eventual destruction. No empire built upon the infallibility of one man, no institution sustained by fear rather than truth, and no movement anchored upon the unchecked whims of a self-anointed messiah has ever escaped the inexorable verdict of time. The collapse may be delayed, but it can never be permanently avoided. The tragedy, however, lies not merely in the eventual downfall of such enterprises, but in the devastating consequences suffered by those who surrendered their independent judgment upon the altar of blind loyalty. By the time the edifice begins to crumble, the damage is often so extensive and profound that no remedy can fully restore what has been lost. The salvation of every noble cause therefore lies not in the infallibility of one individual but in the collective wisdom, vigilance, and discernment of those who genuinely believe in the cause. The greatest safeguard against tyranny within any movement is an enlightened followership. Where the people possess the courage to distinguish the vision from the visionary, the mission from the messenger, and the cause from the cult of personality, renewal becomes possible. History teaches that while one individual may temporarily misdirect a movement through falsehood and manipulation, a vigilant and discerning multitude possesses the inherent capacity to reclaim its essence, restore its integrity, and redirect it towards its original and noble destination. Nothing can be more fundamentally inconsistent with the principles of self-determination than the suggestion that one individual is the landlord while millions of adherents are mere tenants, or that one individual is the employer while millions are his employees. Such a proposition is not merely morally offensive; it is intellectually defective, politically unsound, historically inaccurate, and legally indefensible. A genuine self-determination movement is neither a private estate nor a commercial enterprise. It is not a company incorporated for profit. It is not a family inheritance. It is not a personal investment https://t.co/nZFhfKqph0 is not a kingdom over which one man exercises proprietary rights. Rather, it is a collective expression of the aspirations, sacrifices, sufferings, hopes, and inalienable rights of a people. The internationally recognised principle of self-determination itself proceeds upon the foundation that sovereignty ultimately resides in the people and not in any individual. The right belongs to the people collectively. It is neither transferable nor capable of personal appropriation. Consequently, no individual, regardless of his historical contributions, sacrifices, popularity, or strategic importance, can validly transform himself from a servant of the cause into the owner of the cause. The moment a movement becomes the repository of the collective aspirations of millions, it transcends personal ownership and becomes a common patrimony belonging to all stakeholders. A landlord owns property. A tenant merely occupies it. An employer hires labour. An employee renders service for remuneration. Neither relationship bears the slightest resemblance to the structure of a self-determination movement. Followers are not tenants occupying another man’s political estate. Neither are they employees receiving wages from a political employer. They are stakeholders. They are co-owners of the dream. They are co-travellers in the struggle. They are the very source from which the movement derives its legitimacy, strength, relevance, and existence. Without the people, there is no movement. Without the people’s sacrifices, there is no struggle. Without the people’s collective commitment, there is no legitimacy. The movement therefore belongs not to any individual but to the people whose blood, tears, sacrifices, resources, and unwavering faith sustain it. This reality completely destroys the illusion of proprietary ownership frequently advanced by those who mistake leadership for ownership and stewardship for dominion. Cult followership begins where independent thought ends. It flourishes in environments where questioning is branded as betrayal, where dissent is treated as sacrilege, and where the utterances of one individual acquire the force of divine decree. In such circumstances, followers gradually cease to be participants in a cause and become instruments in the hands of those who manipulate them. The strongest movements in history were never sustained by blind followers; they were sustained by enlightened adherents who possessed the courage to applaud what was right, reject what was wrong, and insist upon accountability irrespective of personalities. Such people understood that loyalty to principles must always supersede loyalty to individuals. The interests of millions can never be subordinated to the ego, ambitions, emotions, whims, or proprietary claims of a single individual. Where such tendencies emerge, wisdom demands immediate corrective action. For a genuine people’s movement is not an estate to be https://t.co/NH01BHFa7R is not a tenancy to be administered. It is not a corporation employing followers. It is a sacred trust held in stewardship for present and future generations. The enduring strength of every legitimate movement therefore lies not in the unchecked authority of one individual but in the collective vigilance of those committed to its ideals. And whenever the people awaken to this truth, no deception can permanently enslave them, no personality cult can permanently dominate them, and no individual can permanently appropriate what rightfully belongs to millions. And when the people reclaim their cause, renewal becomes inevitable. Signed Sir Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Esq., KSC Dunu-Ezeugonsinachi June 22, 2026

SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT: I PERSONALLY WITHDREW FROM NNAMDI KANU’S LEGAL REPRESENTATION IN DECEMBER 2023 NO ROOM FOR MISCHIEF: THE FACTS CONCERNING MY LEGAL MANDATE FROM IPOB For the avoidance of doubt, and for the sake of clarity, I wish to state unequivocally that I personally disengaged myself from the legal representation of Nnamdi Kanu in any capacity since December 2023, long before his eventual conviction and the subsequent sentence to life imprisonment. In the exercise of our professional rights and responsibilities as legal practitioners, we have, throughout the relevant period, remained in effective and continuous retainership as solicitors to the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). In that capacity, we have diligently and professionally discharged our responsibilities, securing the discharge and acquittal, upon the conclusion of full trials, of over 200 alleged members of IPOB across the Federal High Court in Abuja, High Court of Ebonyi State and Abia State High Court respectively, between December 2023 and the year 2025. These are not matters founded on hearsay or conjecture. The records are matters of public knowledge and are readily verifiable. For the avoidance of doubt, Nnamdi Kanu never independently appointed us as attorneys to the IPOB. His limited involvement in our appointment was solely in his capacity as his personal lawyer, from which we had, since December 2023, formally disengaged our services. Furthermore, and for the avoidance of any further doubt, therefore, I reiterate that from December 2023 to date, I have not represented Nnamdi Kanu in any capacity whatsoever, whether as his private counsel, family lawyer, or otherwise. Any attempt to suggest the contrary is, at best, a deliberate distortion of the facts and, at worst, a calculated narrative designed to serve ulterior and mischievous purposes. It is equally important to place on record that IPOB, as an organisation, has today reaffirmed our standing as its solicitors and legal representatives. That professional relationship is founded upon a continuing mandate and cannot be retrospectively altered, invalidated, or otherwise dictated by its former leaders. It is important to state, at this juncture, that the Nigerian Correctional Service Act is clear as to the manner in which any communication purportedly emanating from a convict or an inmate may be duly authenticated or validated. Any communication purportedly emanating from an inmate, whether a convicted prisoner or a person awaiting trial, must bear the imprimatur and appropriate authentication of the officer in charge of the relevant correctional centre. This requirement is intended to ensure the authenticity, integrity, and proper verification of such communication. This clarification is particularly important and should serve as a cautionary reminder to practitioners who are often quick to rush to report what are clearly unauthorised communications purportedly emanating from inmates, without first appreciating or verifying the applicable legal and administrative procedures governing such communications. Let the facts, therefore, speak for themselves. Let the records speak for themselves. And let those who are genuinely interested in the truth consult the records rather than manufacture narratives for purposes best known to them. We continue moving forward! DEATH OF BIG JOE UNDER THE GUISE OF XENOPHOBIC MADNESS From every indication, it appears that the Nigerian Government has not done enough to secure effective reciprocity or bring an end to the recurring bloody xenophobic attacks against Nigerians in South Africa. The continued brazen assaults, extrajudicial killings, intimidation, and victimisation of our compatriots are both unacceptable and deeply troubling. This is the time for Nigerian youths, civil society organisations, and all well-meaning citizens to rise to the occasion. The time is now. It is a settled fact that South Africa has sufficient business establishments operating in Nigeria. We cannot continue to watch our compatriots being sent to early graves in the name of the xenophobic madness raging in South Africa under the tacit approval and protection of the South African state machinery. It was Big Joe yesterday; who can tell who the next victim will be? Yet, we pretend that all is well. It is time we helped the Government, which is presently preoccupied with the 2027 elections, address this grave anomaly. Enough of this madness. The lives and dignity of Nigerians matter. @EjioforBar June 30, 2026

WEEKEND MUSINGS THE STRUGGLE TO SAVE THE SOUL OF ALA-IGBO: AN URGENT AND SACRED DUTY THAT MUST PREVAIL OVER DECEIT, MISINFORMATION AND THE POLITICS OF DELUSION In my successive media interventions, I have consistently sounded the alarm over the urgent imperative to strengthen and sustain the collective struggle to save the soul of Ala-Igbo from those who, whether by design or by reckless consequence, appear determined to preside over its gradual desecration and eventual ruin. The danger before us is neither imaginary nor exaggerated. It is real, palpable, and increasingly manifest in the disturbing narratives being manufactured, circulated, and aggressively amplified across social media platforms. What ought ordinarily to be platforms for enlightenment, constructive engagement, and the advancement of the common good have, in some quarters, been reduced to the last refuge of desperate narratives, carefully contrived to preserve old prejudices, defend indefensible conduct, and keep alive the very conditions that have brought our people untold anguish. It is, therefore, deeply troubling that otherwise rational and patriotic indigenous citizens can be emotionally manipulated into embracing narratives that seek to rationalise needless bloodshed, justify fratricidal violence, or portray the desecration of our ancestral homeland as some form of heroic sacrifice. This is not merely misinformation. It is something far more dangerous. It is collective hypnosis—the deliberate numbing of reason until a people begin to mistake their own destruction for liberation and their own bleeding for victory. But the time has come for sober reflection. When every hand ought to be on deck to save the soul of our homeland, our first and overriding obligation must be to place the common interest of our people above primordial proclamations of individual ambition, personal grievance, factional loyalty, and narrow political or ideological interests. It is precisely the elevation of these selfish and competing interests above the collective welfare of our people that has brought us to the present precipice. Those who persist in maligning, defaming, threatening, abusing, and needlessly attacking anyone who challenges their narratives must understand that noise is not an argument, intimidation is not evidence, and personal abuse is not a substitute for truth. Indeed, the more desperate the attacks become, the more clearly the poverty of the underlying argument is exposed. The truth remains stubbornly resistant to propaganda. The reality we must confront, regardless of whose ox is gored, is that Ala-Igbo must be rescued. We must not relent in deploying every lawful, peaceful, intelligent, and collective measure necessary to save our homeland from the consequences of prolonged violence, division, manipulation, and institutional decay. History has a cruel but reliable way of vindicating truth. Those who argue blindly today may, with the passage of time, come to understand how profoundly misguided they were. But by then, the tragedy may be that the consequences of their errors will have become irreversible. There are, of course, those who know the truth about the solemn duty to salvage our land from the atrocities and destructive patterns of the past, yet deliberately pretend to be blind to it. Some of them are beneficiaries of the disorder; others have, in one way or another, benefited from the havoc that has afflicted our people. They therefore have a vested interest in its perpetuation. To such persons, one can only extend the pity reserved for those who have become prisoners of the very darkness they help to preserve. But the struggle for truth and righteousness has never been a contest for the widest road. The path of righteousness is, and has always been, narrow. Yet narrow though that path may be, it leads somewhere. And at the end of every dark tunnel, there must eventually be light. To all those who have chosen the difficult but necessary path of truth, reason, peace, justice, and the preservation of our collective heritage, I say: do not relent, no matter whose ox is gored. Do not despair. Do not be discouraged. Do not be intimidated. Do not allow the noise of the moment to drown out the truth of history. The forces of deceit may be loud today. The merchants of misinformation may be relentless. The defenders of the indefensible may appear formidable. But no falsehood has ever possessed the strength to permanently defeat the truth. The hour may be dark, but it is not eternal. The struggle may be arduous, but it is not hopeless. The road may be long, but it must be travelled. And the destination must remain clear: to save the soul of Ala-Igbo. We owe this duty not merely to ourselves, but to those who came before us and to those yet unborn. We cannot inherit a homeland and, through our negligence, hatred, selfishness, or blindness, bequeath its ruins to our children. We cannot continue to sacrifice the future of an entire people on the altar of individual ambition, factional ego, political opportunism, or ideological absolutism. Ala-Igbo is greater than any individual. Ala-Igbo is greater than any faction. Ala-Igbo is greater than any political party. Ala-Igbo is greater than any ideology. And the soul of our people must never again become collateral damage in the pursuit of personal agendas. Let us, therefore, rise above the politics of bitterness and the theatre of manufactured outrage. Let us reclaim the courage to speak truth even when it is inconvenient, to condemn wrong even when committed by those we admire, and to defend our people not by encouraging their destruction, but by preserving their lives, dignity, liberty, prosperity, and collective future. For in the final reckoning, history will not ask who shouted the loudest. It will ask: Who stood when the land was bleeding? Who spoke when truth was being suffocated? Who chose the future over the past? Who chose life over destruction? Who had the courage to save the soul of his people when it mattered most? May we be found on the right side of that history. And may the day come when Ala-Igbo, healed of the wounds of the past and liberated from the manipulations of the present, shall once again rise—not through the ashes of destruction, but through the strength of unity, the dignity of justice, the wisdom of responsible leadership, and the enduring resilience of her people. The soul of Ala-Igbo must be saved. It must be saved now. And we must not fail. Happy new month , Ezigbo Umuchineke. THE CURIOUS PANIC OF THOSE CONFRONTED BY NOTHING BUT SILENCE ; WHY THE LAMENTATION WHEN NOTHING HAS BEEN SAID? 1. A supposed client personally embarked upon a relentless and ceaseless campaign of blackmail against his own lawyer for years. 2. He published through his proxies, unprintable and apparently manufactured materials calculated to create the impression that the lawyer had received professional fees under circumstances entirely different from the truth. Yet, the lawyer remained resolutely silent. 3. He proceeded to file frivolous, ridiculous and wholly unfounded petitions before the relevant professional body, founded upon what appeared to be venomous, malicious and contrived allegations, all while the lawyer was still actively engaged in representing the supposed client. Still, there was no response from the lawyer. 4. From his detention facility, he personally issued threats and, according to verified information available to the lawyer, gave direct instructions to his foot soldiers to eliminate the said lawyer. Yet, nothing happened. 5. He continued to issue instructions from detention, with the active assistance of the facility manager and, by extension, with the apparent knowledge of the relevant security agencies, concerning who should be kept alive and who should be killed. Still, there was no response from the lawyer. 6. He accused the lawyer, through information conveyed directly to his Personal Assistant, of matters the lawyer had never contemplated, imagined or remotely considered, including the most reprehensible and utterly unfounded and defamatory allegation that he had entered into an intimate relationship with his wife. Yet, the lawyer remained quiet. 7. He continued to personally issue threats against this very lawyer through various social-media platforms and handles, which were reportedly traced to his place of detention. Still, the lawyer maintained his silence. 8. In all these devastating episodes, it apparently never occurred to the daydreamer that, by repeatedly launching such attacks and allegations against his former lawyer, he had himself fundamentally altered the circumstances surrounding professional confidentiality, particularly insofar as the lawyer might be compelled to defend his own person, reputation and integrity. Still, the lawyer kept quiet. 9. But the very moment the weight and brutality of the evidence that Lolo Nneka was prepared to place before the court in defence of herself against a frivolous and ridiculous defamation suit were brought to his attention, the self-styled champion of professional confidentiality suddenly remembered the existence of that sacred principle. 10. Let me, therefore, tell the daydreamer this: the time has not yet come for me to divulge professionally obtained information. And even if I had intended to do so, I would have done so long before now. I have, however, consistently allowed myself to be guided by the dictates of professional ethics, restraint and responsibility. I have no desire whatsoever to become responsible for the consequences of another person’s actions. After all, the evil that men do does not simply disappear; it ultimately follows them. 11. Further to the foregoing, I do not dignify every concocted or apparently forged correspondence hurriedly assembled by overzealous actors who, in their desperation, now appear to be running faster than their own shadows. So, why the lamentation when, in truth, nothing has been said? Why the sudden panic? Why the hurried invocation of professional confidentiality? Why the desperate attempt to silence a voice that has, for years, chosen restraint over retaliation? Let those who are impatient to know what has not been said continue to lament. Let those who have been running faster than their own shadows continue their race. Let them continue to mistake silence for weakness and restraint for surrender. But they should be reminded of one immutable truth: silence is not ignorance, and restraint is not helplessness. Sometimes, silence is simply the deliberate choice of a person who knows precisely what he possesses, what he knows, and when the time is right to speak. For now, nothing has been said. And perhaps that is precisely what is causing all the lamentation. Time, however, is fast running out. It is only a matter of time. We move! @EjioforBar July 27, 2026

WEDNESDAY MUSINGS THE TRAGEDY OF KENNETH OKONKWO: HOW CIVILITY WAS SACRIFICED ON THE ALTAR OF POLITICAL VITUPERATION “The noise, the fury, and futility; Kenneth Okonkwo’s war against political decorum” One of the enduring virtues of constitutional democracy, as inherited from the civilized traditions of democratic governance across the world, is its insistence on civility, decorum, and intellectual engagement in political contestation. Democracy was never designed to be a theatre of insults, nor a marketplace of reckless invective. Rather, it thrives on reasoned disagreement, principled opposition, ideological debates, and fact-based criticism of governmental policies and public officials. In every healthy democracy, opposition politics performs a vital constitutional function. It serves as a watchdog against executive excesses, exposes unpopular policies, amplifies the concerns of the citizenry, and enriches public discourse through constructive criticism. Indeed, many governments have recalibrated their policies after taking cognizance of legitimate concerns raised by opposition voices. Regrettably, what increasingly confronts Nigerians today is a disturbing departure from these cherished democratic norms. Instead of directing critical scrutiny toward those who presently wield state power and determine the policy trajectory of the nation, certain political actors have chosen to expend their energies launching relentless attacks against fellow opposition figures. This unfortunate trend finds perhaps one of its most dramatic manifestations in the routine media outings of Mr. Kenneth Okonkwo. His persistent and often intemperate commentaries directed at Mr. Peter Obi have become a subject of widespread public discussion and concern. While no democratic society should suppress dissenting opinions or robust political disagreement, there is an unmistakable distinction between constructive criticism and a sustained campaign of personal vilification. For many discerning observers, Mr. Okonkwo’s appearances across television and digital media platforms have projected less the image of a spokesperson engaged in principled political debate and more that of a man consumed by an inexplicable obsession. His language, disposition, and manner of engagement frequently transcend the boundaries of healthy political discourse and venture into territories that do little to elevate public conversation. One is inevitably compelled to ask: What exactly is driving this relentless fixation? Is it ideology? Is it principle? Is it political strategy? Or is it something far more personal and less comprehensible to the ordinary observer? Whatever the motivation may be, one fact remains undeniable: the tone and tenor of his public interventions have contributed little to the advancement of democratic dialogue. Instead, they have increasingly transformed serious political discussions into spectacles that often leave viewers bewildered rather than enlightened. Even more concerning is the potential damage such conduct inflicts upon those on whose behalf he ostensibly speaks. Political advocacy becomes counterproductive when excessive hostility overshadows substance. History is replete with examples of political surrogates whose uncontrolled rhetoric ultimately harmed the very causes and candidates they sought to promote. It is equally important to remind ourselves that Mr. Kenneth Okonkwo is not merely a politician. He is a legal practitioner, a profession that traditionally imposes higher standards of restraint, civility, and responsibility in public communication. Members of the legal profession are expected to embody intellectual discipline and measured expression, especially when engaging matters of public importance. No one disputes Mr. Okonkwo’s constitutional right to criticize political actors. Indeed, criticism is the lifeblood of democracy. However, criticism loses its legitimacy when it abandons facts for insults, reason for hostility, and persuasion for provocation. Political engagement should never degenerate into a contest of who can utter the harshest words or attract the loudest headlines. The Nigerian media space must equally exercise vigilance. Television stations and broadcast platforms should remain conscious of their obligations to promote responsible discourse. The airwaves should not become arenas where reckless utterances are normalized or rewarded merely because they generate momentary attention. Freedom of expression carries with it corresponding duties of responsibility, accuracy, and respect for public sensibilities. Political disagreements are inevitable; political hostility is not. One may oppose a candidate without demonizing him. One may challenge ideas without demeaning personalities. One may disagree passionately without abandoning civility. The tragedy of contemporary politics is not disagreement-it is the growing abandonment of dignity in disagreement. As Nigerians prepare for future political contests, we must collectively reject the normalization of toxic rhetoric. Public figures, irrespective of political affiliation, should aspire to elevate national conversations rather than degrade them. The electorate deserves arguments, not abuse; facts, not fury; persuasion, not personal vendettas. Should this disturbing pattern persist unabated, it may not be entirely unreasonable for concerned observers to call for a professional medical and psychological assessment of Mr. Kenneth Okonkwo, with a view to determining whether there are underlying factors contributing to his increasingly troubling public conduct and utterances. #RestoreDecencyToPolitics #PoliticsWithoutBitterness #DefendingDemocraticValues #CivilityInPublicDiscourse #DemocracyDemandsDecorum #ResponsiblePoliticalEngagement #FactsNotVitriol #ElevatePoliticalDiscourse #SayNoToPoliticalToxicity #BarEjioforWrites Sir Ifeanyi Ejiofor, Esq., KSC Dunu-Ezeugosinachi June 10, 2026

Reading these numbers

Does @EjioforBar have real engagement?
Its engagement rate beats 59% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (20,444 accounts), which puts it in the middle of its size range group.
