روى لي أحد الأصدقاء قصة عن الشيخ حمد رحمه الله بعد كشف محاولة الانقلاب عليه بالتسعينات والتي كان يقودها أحد ضباط الجيش مع مجموعة من المشاركين فيها. وبعد إحباط المحاولة أُبلغ الشيخ بأن رواتب المتورطين قد أُوقفت وهو إجراء طبيعي في مثل هذه الحالات. لكنه فاجأ الجميع عندما أمر بأن تُصرف رواتبهم كاملة وكأنهم ما زالوا على رأس عملهم. تخيلوا… هؤلاء لم يكونوا مجرد معارضين له بل كانوا يخططون للانقلاب عليه وتُروى الرواية بأن استهدافه كان سيجري أثناء أدائه صلاة العيد. ومع ذلك قال: إن أبناءهم وبناتهم هم أبناؤنا ولا ذنب لهم بما اقترفته أيدي آبائهم. أي سمو أخلاقي هذا؟ وأي قدرة على الفصل بين الجريمة وبين الأبرياء الذين لا علاقة لهم بها؟ قد يختلف الناس في السياسة وقد تتباين الآراء في كثير من القضايا لكن تبقى مثل هذه المواقف من أصدق المواقف التي تكشف معدن الإنسان لأن العظمة لا تظهر عندما تمتلك القوة فحسب بل عندما تمتلك القدرة على العدل والرحمة في أصعب اللحظات. #حمد_بن_خليفة
