@DougPolkVids - 182K followers on X
Measured over 14 original posts from a 30-day window, last computed on October 15, 2026.
Engagement
A typical post picks up 108 interactions against 182K followers, an engagement rate of 0.06%. Measured over 14 original posts, its engagement rate beats 50% of 20,444 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. Posts are seen about 23K times each, and 0.471% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 12.7% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 1.2 post a day over the last 30 days, with activity on roughly 53% of days. Most posts go out around 19:00 UTC, and Thursday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 14 posts sampled, 50% carry an image or video, 36% are part of a thread and 21% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 6.0K interactions, about 55x its own typical post.

Compared with accounts its own size
Doug Polk (Code Doug)'s engagement rate beats 50% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (20,444 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 9 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.
On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 25% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.

Posting timing
This account posts most often around 19:00 UTC, and Thursday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

Formats this account uses
Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.
| Format | This account | Catalog effect | 95% interval | Accounts behind it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Image or video | 50% of posts | +111% | +108% to +115% | 34K |
| Outbound link | 21% of posts | -41% | -42% to -40% | 32K |
| Typical length | - | -3% | -3% to -2% | 54K |
- 50% of this account's sampled posts carry an image or video. Across the catalog, posts with an image or video run 111% above the same accounts' other posts.
- 21% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts.
- Its average post runs 165 characters, which falls in the 80 - 180 characters band. Across the catalog, posts of 80 to 180 characters run 3% below the same accounts' other posts.
These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

On my way to Vancouver to sit in a hotel room to play online. Flights, travel expenses, to sit in front of a computer instead of just being able to do it from home. It is just so incredibly stupid that you have to leave America to play online poker. What are we even doing?

Haseeb once bet $750k against someone being able to run 70 miles on a treadmill in 24 hours. Didn’t have $750k to lose but thought it was a lock. Ended up losing and had to borrow money from a friend who he paid back in “life coaching” True story https://t.co/qJce5s7Cs4

I have lost a lot online over the last few months. Felt like my opponents knew my cards. Apparently there is a program being used to hack high stakes players computers. Someone actually sent me to this program back in July. Unfortunately I never installed it.

If I teach my kids anything I want to teach them how to be resilient. Sometimes things wont go your way and you will lose, but its the people battle through constant adversity that make it in the long run. I am considering quitting PLO though.

Following some of the AI discourse. There is a large sentiment of people who think it has 5-10% chance to wipe out humanity. There are a good number of people who think its 0%. My take, assuming its somewhere in the middle there, what is an acceptable amount of risk to kill everyone? 0.1%? 1%? 10%? I feel like even a very small chance should be taken extremely seriously if we are talking about bad runouts. Maybe its a career in gambling that makes me feel this risk more but im not cool on taking a 1 in 100 shot of killing all of us.

Today’s the day! A moment 4 years in the making. I’ve put my entire heart (and nearly all my time) into this book. Beneath the Cards is officially out now! Pretty surreal. In September 2022, I believe myself and others were cheated in several livestream poker hands. That moment flipped my world upside down. To try to make peace with it, I started writing. Eventually, I decided to take the biggest gamble of my life: push my lucrative poker career to the side and publish a memoir. Beneath the Cards takes you inside my insane world playing in games with millions up for grabs. But ultimately, it’s really about trying to find some peace in an industry where pain is inescapable and my mental health struggles only made things harder. It’s about obsession, the search for identity, and often, a cautionary tale about what not to do. Poker has given me and my family so much. And still, I’ve never been more proud of anything I’ve done professionally than this book. The wait is over. I’m so stoked to finally share it with you all, in paperback, ebook, and audiobook (narrated by me). Link in bio. Thanks for being part of one of the most special days of my life.

The Vikings just failed to convert a third down and my 3 yo, who has never commented on football, said "Dada its 4th down now". It brought tears to my eyes. Because I have 200k on the Vikings.

♠️Poker quiz♠️ You're heads-up for a major title (85bb deep). Millions of dollars on the line. You have J♦️3♦️ in the big blind. Your opponent limps on the button and you decide to check. The flop is A♠️ K♠️ 4♣️. You check, your opponent min-bets, and you call (because you're feeling saucy). The turn is the J♠️. You check and your opponent bets twice the pot. You call because you misread your hand as J-4 (a very realistic and common mistake). River 6♠️. You check. Opponent bets around twice the pot again. You look down and realize you do indeed have J♦️3♦️ What's your play?

- What is Doug Polk (Code Doug)'s engagement rate on X?
- Doug Polk (Code Doug) (@DougPolkVids) has an engagement rate of 0.06%, based on the median interactions across 14 original posts from the last 30 days against 181,700 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
- Is that a good engagement rate?
- At 0.06%, Doug Polk (Code Doug) sits above the 25th percentile of the 204,956 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
- Does @DougPolkVids have real engagement?
- Its engagement rate beats 50% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (20,444 accounts), which puts it in the middle of its size range group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
- When does @DougPolkVids post?
- Most posts go out around 19:00 UTC, and Thursday is its busiest day, at roughly 1.2 posts per day across the measured window.
