Measured over 76 original posts from a 30-day window, last computed on August 28, 2026.
Engagement
A typical post picks up 94 interactions against 909K followers, an engagement rate of 0.01%. Measured over 76 original posts, its engagement rate beats 35% of 3,829 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. Posts are seen about 31K times each, and 0.301% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 3.44% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 3 posts a day over the last 30 days, with activity on roughly 63% of days. Most posts go out around 14:00 UTC, and Tuesday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 76 posts sampled, 17% carry an image or video, 5% are part of a thread and 68% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 5.7K interactions, about 60x its own typical post.

Compared with accounts its own size
Dick Vitale's engagement rate beats 35% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (3,829 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 9 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.
On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 23% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.
Where this sits in the catalog
At 0.01%, Dick Vitale sits above the 10th percentile of the 37,071 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the bottom 25% band, which runs below 0.012%.

Truly devastated just hearing the news in the last couple of hours about the death of @joedeanjr who spent the better part of 20 years with me calling @SEC 🏀. The former @HailStateMBK player and former Grad Asst. after graduation later joined Joe B. Hall’s staff @KentuckyMBB as an Asst.on their 1978 National Championship team. Joe’s career would lead him to bith @UCF_MBB and Birmingham Southern where in 6 years he built a Championship program that eventually led to multiple National Titles under Duane Reboul in 90 & 95. Joe had become their Athletic Director and was credited for that success and the hiring of Reboul a HS Coach at the time in New Orleans. Our first game together was an 11th hour quite by chance moment when Joe replaced @DickieV when winter 🥶 ice storm kept him from getting to a game in Tuscaloosa and he and I having known one another called Georgia/Alabama on an SEC Tuesday Night on @espn. It led to Joe being hired to call games (just as his best friend and Dad Joe Sr. had done for decades)then @RaycomSports/Jefferson Pilot brought him in to join Larry Conley, Tom Hammond and me as primary commentators thru 2009. Joe had dreamed of being just like his Dad and becoming Athletic Director at his alma mater. His health suffered in the years that followed and he was off the grid. He’s health was far more of an issue than most of us knew all those years ago, until recently when more information came to us after he suffered a stroke. Joe Jr. was a walking talking Memorial to his legendary Father, and he loved that. Now, he’s done suffering and is with his best friend “Mr.String Music 🏀”for eternity. We shared some awesome moments together covering SEC Basketball. Our hearts go out to his beloved wife Ellen, son Scott, and daughter Leslie. I’ve missed Joe for a long time already, but now I know he’s with his Pop and Mom both magnificent people whom We all loved on this https://t.co/2oF86eR07v Joe Joe and give your Dad & Doris a hug. 💜🙏

- What is Dick Vitale's engagement rate on X?
- Dick Vitale (@DickieV) has an engagement rate of 0.01%, based on the median interactions across 76 original posts from the last 30 days against 908,809 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
- Is that a good engagement rate?
- At 0.01%, Dick Vitale sits above the 10th percentile of the 37,071 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
- Does @DickieV have real engagement?
- Its engagement rate beats 35% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (3,829 accounts), which puts it in the middle of its size range group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
- When does @DickieV post?
- Most posts go out around 14:00 UTC, and Tuesday is its busiest day, at roughly 2.97 posts per day across the measured window.
