A typical post picks up 669 interactions against 85K followers, an engagement rate of 0.79%. Measured over 15 original posts, its engagement rate beats 85% of 15,519 tracked accounts of a similar size. Comparing inside a size band matters here: engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly just re-measure the follower count. Posts are seen about 24K times each, and 2.77% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 28.5% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 1.8 posts a day over the last 30 days, with activity on roughly 53% of days. Most posts go out around 12:00 UTC, and Monday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 15 posts sampled, 47% carry an image or video and 20% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 48K interactions, about 71x its own typical post.

Compared with accounts its own size

Daniel Bordman's engagement rate beats 85% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (15,519 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 6 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.

On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 71% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.

Where this sits in the catalog

At 0.79%, Daniel Bordman sits above the 75th percentile of the 156,596 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the top 25% band, which runs 0.604% to 2.32%.

Engagement rate as a share of followers, across the 156,596 accounts we have scanned enough to measure. The axis is logarithmic, because the top and bottom of this population are about 26,062 times apart and a linear axis would flatten everything below the median into a single point.

This account posts most often around 12:00 UTC, and Monday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

Formats this account uses

Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.

  • 47% of this account's sampled posts carry an image or video. Across the catalog, posts with an image or video run 111% above the same accounts' other posts.
  • 20% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts.
  • Its average post runs 252 characters, which falls in the 180 - 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts of 180 to 280 characters match the same accounts' other posts almost exactly.

These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

An Update on My Termination from the University of Guelph (-Humber) because I told a man in Pakistan who was calling for the destruction of Israel that I stood with Israel and that Hamas were Nazis My OLRB proceeding was cancelled five months ago. Since then: no replacement date, no substantive response and no meaningful communication. I maintain that I was terminated through a process in which my accuser, VP Melanie Spence-Ariemma, also acted as the judge in deciding my fate—without ever interviewing me. The institutions relied upon a disputed JPEG, not the original exchange, authenticated platform records or forensic evidence. Meanwhile, co-accuser Wael Ramadan’s @WJR documented public posts—including material that promoted Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis, erased or depicted Israel burning and circulated dehumanizing statements about Jews—including calling them subhuman and stating that the hostages in Gaza were treated with incredible kindness (even those who were murdered) apparently received no comparable scrutiny. My assigned OLRB adjudicator, Vice-Chair Shaheen Hirani, previously headed the United Steelworkers’ Canadian legal department while USW bodies issued forceful anti-Israel statements and an Israel-related divestment resolution. Her organization, of which counsel oversaw public statements, accused Israel of genocide, called Israel apartheid and accused Israel of ethnic cleansing. She is pretending to be non-partisan. I have requested answers about conflict screening and her possible involvement. No response. Five months of institutional silence is not adjudication. I want authenticated evidence, an impartial adjudicator and a hearing. I want the current Vice Chair removed as her bias and prejudice has reached absurd levels. Is it unreasonable for a person fired for saying they stood with Israel to ask to be heard by someone who, unlike my union, unlike Humber College, unlike the University of Guelph, and unlike President Bill Rosehart (who fired me without ever communicating) now of the University of Waterloo, has not expressed or shared support with those who have advocated against or called directly for the destruction of Israel? Is it possible to stand publicly with Israel and keep a public-sector job in Ontario? My experience suggests that once someone objects loudly enough, the answer may be no. #OLRB #Israel #AcademicFreedom @UofGHproblems @uofg @OPSEU @JesseBrown @NatashaMontreal

Reading these numbers

What is Daniel Bordman's engagement rate on X?
Daniel Bordman (@DanielBordmanOG) has an engagement rate of 0.79%, based on the median interactions across 15 original posts from the last 30 days against 84,678 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
Is that a good engagement rate?
At 0.79%, Daniel Bordman sits above the 75th percentile of the 156,596 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
Does @DanielBordmanOG have real engagement?
Its engagement rate beats 85% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (15,519 accounts), which puts it in the top quarter for its size group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
When does @DanielBordmanOG post?
Most posts go out around 12:00 UTC, and Monday is its busiest day, at roughly 1.77 posts per day across the measured window.
