A typical post picks up 950 interactions against 548K followers, an engagement rate of 0.174%. Measured over 45 original posts, its engagement rate beats 79% of 20,444 tracked accounts of a similar size. Comparing inside a size band matters here: engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly just re-measure the follower count. Posts are seen about 31K times each, and 3.11% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 5.57% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 5.1 posts a day over the last 30 days, though only 27% of days saw any activity at all. Most posts go out around 02:00 UTC, and Tuesday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 45 posts sampled, 62% carry an image or video and 38% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 29K interactions, about 31x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #auspol, #auspol2026, #insiders.

Compared with accounts its own size

Dave Hughes's engagement rate beats 79% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (20,444 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 10 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.

On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 79% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.

Where this sits in the catalog

At 0.174%, Dave Hughes sits above the 50th percentile of the 205,374 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the above the median band, which runs 0.143% to 0.678%.

Formats this account uses

Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.

These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

Media Release: Labor grants went to mosque linked to accused FlyDubai terrorist hijacker Tony Burke faces serious security questions after reports that an Australian Islamic organisation linked to the accused FlyDubai terrorist hijacker received multiple multiculturalism grants from the Albanese Labor government. One Nation leader Senator Pauline Hanson said these shocking revelations raise serious questions about whether Labor’s multicultural grants program is shovelling taxpayer money into centres promoting radical Islamic extremism. “This is an extraordinary and deeply concerning revelation,” Senator Hanson said. “The radicalisation of the man accused of trying to hijack an aircraft and carry out a 9/11-style terrorist attack reportedly began in Melbourne as an international student. Now we learn the Islamic organisation he associated with received not one, but two taxpayer-funded grants from the Albanese Labor government in the last two financial years. “The ASIO terrorist threat level in Australia is currently ‘probable’, meaning a greater than 50% chance of a terrorist attack or attempted attack in the next 12 months. Labor now appears to be handing out grants without even properly checking who it is funding. “The prospect that taxpayer funds could be furthering terrorist activities is a truly shocking revelation. “Tony Burke must answer whether he or his department sought security advice before signing off these grants and whether any other organisations linked to people under ASIO investigation have received taxpayer money under this program. “Multicultural grants have exploded under the Albanese Labor government, rising from less than $6 million in 2022–23 to more than $325 million in 2025–26, with 94% going to Labor seats last year. “The same government that refused to name radical Islamic terrorism for days after the Bondi massacre, dragged its feet on a Royal Commission, and fails to confront Islamic extremism head-on is now at risk of funding extremism too. “We need the power to shut down the prayer halls where this terror is preached. We need foreign preachers who incite violence on a plane out of this country. We need the ones born here in front of a judge. And we need ASIO and the Federal Police resourced to dismantle these networks. “One Nation will keep exposing where this money has gone and demanding tougher enforcement against radical Islamic terrorists and their backers. “Bondi should have ended the excuses for this Labor government. This revelation shows Tony Burke’s excuses cannot continue.”

Ever wondered why PM Albanese is so ill-advised? Like does anyone advise him. I did the research, strap yourself in. For context Labor legend PM Bob Hawke had 15 staff in his PM office. https://t.co/0qBBSnzW0l

Anthony Albanese calls someone who works hard their entire life to pay off their home and then pass it down to their children as “intergenerational inequality” And then taxes that house again when you try to pass it on. But if you live in housing commission house occupied for four generations, like his own family, that isn’t inequality. That’s just being a “proud houso”

Australia should be the wealthiest country in the world, but we are governed by totally incompetent and clueless fools. China has approved another 10 nuclear power stations at a total cost of US$27 billion (~A$38 billion). They will generate around 12,000 MW of electricity 24/7 for the Chinese economy. In contrast, Australia is spending $42 billion on Snowy 2.0. which generates zero electricity. In fact, it destroys energy, because the electricity used to pump the water uphill is around 40% more than the electricity it produces when the water is released to spin the turbines. Even then, on an intermittent basis, Snowy 2.0 can only deliver a maximum of 2,000 MW. If we keep this up, China is going to own us. The decisions being made today by totally incompetent fools like Bowen and Albanese — with their Net Zero obsession — will impoverish future generations of Australians.

This has escalated. The Extreme Left think it is impossible that someone could be generous with anything other than other people’s money. My wife is the driving force behind setting these rents. Our inner city Melbourne block of eight two bedroom renovated flats, with undercover parking, are all rented well below market rate, and one is at $120 a week and has been for close to a decade, and one is $150 a week and has been for close to five years. Both of those rented by single parents, one a mum with two kids, one a dad with one kid. Did Albo rent his investment properties, that he sold before tanking the market, at a discount? And if not, why does the Extreme Left paint me as the evil greedy landlord, and him as the hero of the downtrodden? Do you think I’m lying about these rents, and if so, wanna bet? Ps they have never been negative geared.

‘We Change Minds’ is the motto of The Australia Institute, a Canberra Lobby group, who are proud of changing the minds of Albo & Jim and leading them to break their election promises and hike taxes. That lost the trust of the people and crashed the economy. Didn’t affect the Australia Institute though because they don’t pay tax, as they are a registered charity. They spent 12 million dollars last year, funded by tax deductible donations. They refuse to disclose their major donors. We don’t know their masters. Lobby Groups aren’t charities and definitely shouldn’t be subsidised by the taxpayer.

So someone comments that they hope our block of flats is taken from us and redistributed, I reply to their comment that our tenants wouldn’t like that, as our rents are as low as $120 a week for 2BR inner city apartments with under cover parking. This is all in the comments, not amplified, but my haters, who must have me on alerts, seize upon that comment, assume I’m lying, and have a field day defaming me in their posts. Then they start to realise I’m not lying, and now the likes of former Labor MP for Hawthorn John Kennedy, of the Dan Andrews era, who has been sniping me for months, has blocked me, so I can’t put the spotlight on his gross nasty false post. He publicly stated that I’m lying about being generous, which would be such a fucked thing to do, and when he realises I’m not lying, he disappears. This was how Dan Andrews governed Victoria. Never any accountability. Jacinta Allan was the same. He taught them all. The new guy talks a better game ‘Integrity won’t be optional’, But you just can’t believe Labor. This is why I’m putting in effort to help change the Victorian Government in November. #LaborLast

What is Dave Hughes's engagement rate on X?
Dave Hughes (@DHughesy) has an engagement rate of 0.174%, based on the median interactions across 45 original posts from the last 30 days against 547,895 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
Is that a good engagement rate?
At 0.174%, Dave Hughes sits above the 50th percentile of the 205,374 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
Does @DHughesy have real engagement?
Its engagement rate beats 79% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (20,444 accounts), which puts it in the top quarter for its size group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
When does @DHughesy post?
Most posts go out around 02:00 UTC, and Tuesday is its busiest day, at roughly 5.1 posts per day across the measured window.
