Yine dosya kapsamındaki deliller ışığında, Narin'in annesi Yüksel Güran’n ve amcası Salim Güran’ın suçlu bulunup ağırlaştırılmış müebbet hapis cezasına çarptırılmaları tam bir hukuk faciasıdır. Görünen o ki, basının yönlendirmesiyle oluşan yoğun kamuoyu baskısı, mahkemenin karar sürecini gölgelemiştir. Kişisel görüşler bir kenara bırakıldığında ceza hukukunun en temel kuralı, mahkumiyetin dedikodulara veya ihtimallere değil, somut ve şüpheden uzak delillere dayanması gerekliliğidir. “Şüpheden sanık yararlanır” ilkesi gereğince, dava dosyasındaki mevcut deliller anne ve amcaya bu cezanın verilmesi için teknik olarak yetersiz kalmaktadır. Anne ve amcanın suçlu oldukları, hukukun evrensel ilkeleri gereğince şüpheye yer bırakmayacak şekilde ispatlanamamıştır.
