Bitcoin News engagement report
@BitcoinNewsCom - 265K followers on X
Measured over 93 original posts from a 30-day window, last computed on September 23, 2026.
Engagement
A typical post picks up 55 interactions against 265K followers, an engagement rate of 0.021%. Measured over 93 original posts, its engagement rate beats 33% of 20,444 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. Posts are seen about 10K times each, and 0.533% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 3.90% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 4.7 posts a day over the last 30 days, though only 37% of days saw any activity at all. Most posts go out around 13:00 UTC, and Monday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 93 posts sampled, 80% carry an image or video, 6% are part of a thread and 23% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 4.8K interactions, about 88x its own typical post.

Compared with accounts its own size
Bitcoin News's engagement rate beats 33% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (20,444 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 9 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.
On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 28% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.
Where this sits in the catalog
At 0.021%, Bitcoin News sits above the 10th percentile of the 205,475 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the bottom 25% band, which runs below 0.024%.

Posting timing
This account posts most often around 13:00 UTC, and Monday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

Formats this account uses
Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.
| Format | This account | Catalog effect | 95% interval | Accounts behind it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Image or video | 80% of posts | +111% | +108% to +115% | 34K |
| Outbound link | 23% of posts | -41% | -42% to -40% | 32K |
| Typical length | - | +15% | +14% to +16% | 32K |
- 80% of this account's sampled posts carry an image or video. Across the catalog, posts with an image or video run 111% above the same accounts' other posts.
- 23% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts.
- Its average post runs 356 characters, which falls in the over 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts over 280 characters run 15% above the same accounts' other posts.
These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

I wanted to take a moment to post about communications and transparency. Over the past week, my colleagues and I have spent a lot of time reading the questions, feedback, and criticism that you have shared. Thank you for your passion, and for your belief in Metaplanet. One thing that has become clear is that we have not done a good enough job of explaining how our structure and decisions are designed to create long-term value for all shareholders. We can do better, and we will. It has also become clear that while opinions differ, we all want the same thing: for company leadership and shareholder interests to be aligned in creating as much long-term value as possible, and for Metaplanet to operate with the highest standards of transparency and governance. Through this lens, we announced several significant changes to the 10th Series stock acquisition rights on August 18, including eliminating the adjustment provision, fixing the share count, and implementing additional alignment measures. We are continuing to review our governance and compensation policies and will share any updates when that work is complete. Separately, I’d like to clarify details regarding the structure of MMXX Ventures. The basic facts are these: MMXX is a shareholder in Metaplanet, and I am a significant but non-majority shareholder of its parent company. I am neither a director nor officer of MMXX, and have no role in its investment or trading decisions. What I can speak to, and will, are the decisions made at Metaplanet. Bottom line: going forward, you should expect to hear more from us around the decisions we make and how they shape the future of the company. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to engage.

BLOCKSTREAM TELLS “WHITEHAT” HACKERS BUG IS FIXED, SAFE TO RETURN 4,000 BTC The hackers who withdrew roughly 4,000 BTC from Liquid told Blockstream they would return the funds, but only after the vulnerability was fixed. The entire negotiation has played out publicly through Bitcoin OP_RETURN messages. The hackers initially offered to send “most” of the BTC back, before changing course: “Please fix the bug first. The chain is under risk at latest commit right now. Make sure every node is patched. Then we will transfer the money back safely after confirming the fix.” They also sent Blockstream encrypted details about the vulnerability. Now, roughly two hours ago, Blockstream responded with a PGP-signed OP_RETURN message: “Bridge nodes are patched, safe to return the funds.” 3,998.5 BTC remain in the hackers’ control. The ball is now back in their court.

LIQUID NETWORK DASHBOARD CONFIRMS 4000 BTC DRAIN @btcinsider__ reports hackers appear to have tricked Liquid’s functionaries into approving a transaction that looked valid to their systems but authorized a peg-out of roughly 3,998 BTC to the Bitcoin network. In other words, the hackers created a transaction that passed Liquid’s checks, causing the functionaries’ security hardware to sign off on the withdrawal. The hackers claim to be whitehats.

EL SALVADOR EMBRACES AI TUTORS AS NYC BANS THEM FROM SCHOOLS El Salvador says a pilot program using AI tutors in 171 public schools produced reading, math and science results above the national average and comparable to Germany and Sweden. The program has since expanded to more than 1,000 schools and is expected to reach every public school within 18 months. Meanwhile, New York City has imposed a one-year moratorium on student-facing generative AI tools for preschool through 8th grade. The move comes as NYC reading proficiency reportedly fell 6 percentage points this year, from 56.3% to 50.3%, while math remained essentially flat. Third-grade reading proficiency fell even more sharply, dropping nearly 14 points from 58% to 44.2%. Two very different approaches to AI in the classroom, with two very different trajectories in student performance.

- What is Bitcoin News's engagement rate on X?
- Bitcoin News (@BitcoinNewsCom) has an engagement rate of 0.021%, based on the median interactions across 93 original posts from the last 30 days against 264,784 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
- Is that a good engagement rate?
- At 0.021%, Bitcoin News sits above the 10th percentile of the 205,475 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
- Does @BitcoinNewsCom have real engagement?
- Its engagement rate beats 33% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (20,444 accounts), which puts it in the middle of its size range group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
- When does @BitcoinNewsCom post?
- Most posts go out around 13:00 UTC, and Monday is its busiest day, at roughly 4.67 posts per day across the measured window.
