Today, I celebrate Mallam and Aunty @AsiaAhmad El-Rufai as they mark 27 years of marriage. Aunty Asia is the glue of our family. She is my mother and I am proud to call myself her son. I still remember her taking me back to Zaria Academy when I was in JSS1. She is an avid reader, a brilliant lawyer, and a woman whose compassion has always extended beyond her immediate family. During Mallam’s time as Governor of Kaduna State, she devoted herself to supporting and working with some of the most vulnerable people in our society, particularly widows and orphans. As her children, we are very proud of her and we pray for her everyday. She has always protected and guided me and went out of her way to campaign for my candidature. Every good thing we continue to do for Kaduna North is due to the teachings and knowledge she has imparted in me since I was 11 years old. Every bad thing is my fault. Over the years, I have also witnessed her strength and unwavering support for Mallam through the different seasons of his life. And especially now, as he continues to endure his illegal detention, her steadfastness, strength and presence have been a source of comfort and support. Twenty-seven years is a significant milestone, and today is a moment to appreciate the journey, the memories and the many lives touched along the way. Happy 27th wedding anniversary, Baba El-Rufai my mother, Aunty Asia. May Allah continue to bless your marriage, grant you both good health and peace, and give you many more years of grace, happiness and beautiful memories together. I am deeply concerned by the recurring kidnappings in Millennium City, particularly around Dan Bushiya. These incidents are unacceptable and demand urgent, decisive action. No resident should live in fear of being abducted in their own home or community. We cannot allow kidnapping to become normalised in Kaduna, especially in the heart of our metropolis. I call on the Kaduna State Government, the Nigeria Police Force and all relevant security agencies to intensify operations, strengthen intelligence gathering and ensure the immediate rescue of those abducted. The latest being the family of Ahmad Zakka, including himself, his wife and their infant daughter. Shame. There must also be sustained measures to prevent further attacks and bring the perpetrators to justice. The situation requires urgent attention, not only to secure Dan Bushiya and Millennium City but also to protect neighbouring communities, including Malali and Unguwan Rimi, from further threats. Our people deserve more than expressions of concern; they deserve tangible results. The security of our people is non-negotiable. We must not surrender our communities to criminals or allow families to live at the mercy of kidnappers. May Allah protect our people and grant the safe return of all those in captivity. Signed Hon. Press Release: Fake letter written in horrible English and a more horrendous hand writing. ‘The former Director General of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), former Minister of the Federal Territory (FCT), Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, CON wishes to alert the public that a fake letter is in circulation, purported to have been signed by him, titled Urgent Message. The spurious letter, purportedly dated 14 July 2026 and addressed to the National Chairman and National Secretary of the ADC, should be disregarded as the shabby fake that it is. Neither the poor content nor the handwriting have anything to do with Malam Nasir El-Rufai. The fake letter shows another resort to desperation by Malam’s traducers who seek to sow confusion and division. Their attempt at politics by fakery should be dismissed and condemned. Earlier today in Kaduna, I attended the Combined Passing Out Parade and Commissioning Ceremony of the Nigerian Defence Academy. It was a particularly special occasion for my family as my brother in law, Yusuf Habibu Shuaibu, was among those commissioned as an officer of the Nigerian Air Force. Earlier this year, Yusuf was called to the Nigerian Bar, and today he has taken on another significant responsibility by serving and defending our country as a commissioned military officer. He is an excellent religious scholar and embodies a bright young person. From the law to the military, his journey is a testament to discipline, service and a willingness to take on responsibility. I am incredibly proud of him and excited for what lies ahead. Congratulations, Yusuf. May Allah guide you, protect you and grant you the wisdom, courage and strength to serve our country with honour. I was joined by two brother in laws, Mohammed Habib Shuaib who works at TETFund, his younger brother and the Vice President of SWA Global, Idris Habibu Shuaibu, Yusuf’s elder brother and my childhood friend, Fah’d Mohammed, a first class architect. I was also pleased to be at the ceremony alongside the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas. To all the officers of the 73 Regular Course, Short Service Course 49 (Army), Direct Short Service Course 34 (Air Force) and Branch Commission Course 3 (Air Force), congratulations on this important milestone. The uniform you wear comes with a responsibility greater than yourselves. Nigeria needs officers who will lead with courage, discipline, competence and integrity, and remain committed to the Constitution and the protection of our people. In the name of Allah SWT, the most Beneficent, the most Merciful. Under the counsel of my Senior Advisers, particularly through Yusuf Gambo. I approved the payment of school fees under the first batch of our School Fees Intervention Programme for Married Women Students in selected Islamic schools across Gabasawa, Unguwan Dosa, Gaji, and Unguwan Shanu/Abakpa Wards. I firmly believe that the pursuit of knowledge should never be limited by financial constraints or personal circumstances. I am also a strong believer in the African proverb that says, "If you educate a woman, you educate a nation." It is in that spirit that this intervention is designed to support married women in continuing their Islamic education by easing the burden of school fees and encouraging lifelong learning. My commitment to Islamic education did not begin with my election to the House of Representatives. For many years, we have supported the construction and rehabilitation of Islamic schools, paid school fees for orphans and less privileged students, and distributed exercise books to selected Islamic schools across Kaduna North. Education remains one of the most meaningful investments we can make in our people. Through initiatives like this, we will continue to expand access to learning, empower women, and strengthen Islamic education across Kaduna North Federal Constituency. Update II: I am pleased to announce that the ongoing block of classrooms in Government Secondary School has been completed. It is located in Kabala Ward. The classrooms were done in the name of Alhaji Lawal Musa, fondly remembered as Baba Lawal Protocol. Alhaji Lawal Musa Protocal was an elder statesman and a seasoned civil servant whose achievements (having served the administration of three Governors of Kaduna State) will echo in the history of our dear state. Local gardeners and flower sellers across Kaduna North are currently planting trees and adding some greenery to the school. Once it is a done, the ad hoc committee alongside elders and traditional leaders will flag it off. They deserve all the credit so they should the do the flag off. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. I received with deep sadness the news of the passing of Baba Nafiu Baba Ahmed, mni, a distinguished leader in Kaduna State. He was a statesman, a moral compass to many, Islamic scholar and Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Shari’ah in Nigeria. Baba Nafiu lived a life of service, scholarship and leadership. He had a distinguished career in law and public service, including senior service at the Nigerian Deposit Insurance Corporation, and played an important role in the development of non-interest banking in Nigeria, including through his service with Jaiz Bank. Beyond his professional achievements, he dedicated decades to advancing Islamic scholarship, justice, religious rights and the welfare of the Muslim Ummah through his leadership of the Supreme Council for Shari’ah. Kaduna has lost an elder whose knowledge, counsel and service extended well beyond our state. I still have very fond childhood memories of him growing up alongside his children, Ahmad and Nasir, in particular. I beseech your prayers for his eternal soul as one of his many children and not as the elected representative of the constituency he lived in. May Allah elevate his soul to the highest levels of Aljannatul Firdausi. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the entire Baba Ahmed family, the Supreme Council for Shari’ah, the people of Kaduna State and the entire Muslim Ummah. May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds and grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus. May Allah grant his family the strength and patience to bear this great loss. Signed Hon.
