Distractions and attempts to discredit critics will no longer work. The world has opened its eyes to the illegal, immoral, and criminal policies of the Israeli government that are destabilizing the entire region. The evidence is overwhelming. The thuggery of the Israeli propaganda machinery rings hollow. Disinformation is crumbling in the face of the facts. The world has seen firsthand the inhumane policies of the Israeli government: the killing of children, the destruction of schools, the starvation of civilians, and the violation of the right of 5 million Palestinians living under occupation to freedom. Jordan will continue to call out these atrocities and rally an effective international response to stop them, because we believe in a just peace that will bring security and stability to all in the region; because we believe in justice; and because we are committed to collective human values. The Israeli government is condemning the whole region to a future of conflict and suffering. This is the truth that the Israeli government is trying to bury—in vain. It must be stopped. It must face consequences for its inhumane actions.

We welcome the measures announced today by the British government against unlawful Israeli actions and policies that consolidate occupation, undermine the two-state solution and perpetuate injustice. We thank the British government for standing up for what is right. We also thank Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain and Sweden for announcing their intention to take similar measures and reaffirming their support for the two-state solution. We thank Ireland, Spain, the Netherlands, Norway, Belgium, and other countries for the actions they have already taken. Settlements, settler terrorism, land confiscation, the inhumane treatment of Palestinians and the strangulation of the Palestinian economy will not bring peace and security. Nor will violations of the historic and legal status quo at Jerusalem’s Muslim and Christian holy sites. There is only one path to a just and lasting peace that guarantees security for all: Ending the unlawful occupation of Palestine and implementing the two-state solution. Systematic violations of international law and measures that undermine the prospects for peace cannot be allowed to stand. The international community must take effective action to stop the Israeli government from further undermining the two-state solution and the right of all peoples of the region to live in peace and security. The Israeli government must face real consequences for its radical policies and violation of international law. It must not be allowed to condemn the region and all its peoples to more wars and suffering.
