Jessica Meir engagement report
@Astro_Jessica - 269K followers on X
Measured over 12 original posts from a 30-day window, last computed on September 8, 2026.
Engagement
A typical post picks up 1.1K interactions against 269K followers, an engagement rate of 0.421%. Measured over 12 original posts, its engagement rate beats 85% of 6,874 tracked accounts of a similar size. Comparing inside a size band matters here: engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly just re-measure the follower count. Posts are seen about 21K times each, and 5.34% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 7.89% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 0.83 post a day over the last 30 days, with activity on roughly 63% of days. Most posts go out around 16:00 UTC, and Sunday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 12 posts sampled, 100% carry an image or video and 8% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 33K interactions, about 29x its own typical post.

Compared with accounts its own size
Jessica Meir's engagement rate beats 85% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (6,874 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 7 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.
On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 90% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.
Where this sits in the catalog
At 0.421%, Jessica Meir sits above the 50th percentile of the 66,128 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the above the median band, which runs 0.1% to 0.499%.

Posting timing
This account posts most often around 16:00 UTC, and Sunday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

Formats this account uses
Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.
| Format | This account | Catalog effect | 95% interval | Accounts behind it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Image or video | 100% of posts | +111% | +108% to +115% | 34K |
| Outbound link | 8% of posts | -41% | -42% to -40% | 32K |
| Typical length | - | +15% | +14% to +16% | 32K |
- 100% of this account's sampled posts carry an image or video. Across the catalog, posts with an image or video run 111% above the same accounts' other posts.
- 8% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts.
- Its average post runs 322 characters, which falls in the over 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts over 280 characters run 15% above the same accounts' other posts.
These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

There is a lot going on right now on the @Space_Station, but fortunately we are all safe and witnessed a spectacular southern aurora show yesterday thanks to a recent solar event. https://t.co/25XaoMw2Rk

Starry starry night. Channeling my inner post-impressionism vibes as I experiment with long exposure star trails from the @Space_Station Japanese Experiment Module window. Maybe van Gogh was dreaming in long exposure for his masterpiece. That’s the @JAXA_en external platform (JEF) in the foreground, looking toward the port truss solar arrays on the left. Taken with a Nikon Z9, 14mm lens, 180s exposure.

Our suits are ready and so are we! Join us tomorrow as we conduct our 4th spacewalk in less than a month on-board the @Space_Station. @soph_astro and I will head out for the “Triple Jump” spacewalk, which will include various @Space_Station upgrades. Tune in on NASA+ with coverage starting at 7:00 am ET!

That first spacewalk feeling! Congratulations to @astro_anil on his first spacewalk. Mission complete as we assembled the last of the mounting brackets that will hold another set of solar arrays to augment the @Space_Station power supply. https://t.co/zItZqBSesR

These long shadows cast by cumulus clouds (crepuscular rays) at sunrise caught my eye, their straight lines a juxtaposition of sorts among the curves of Earth and its clouds. Mother Nature seems to prefer softer edges. https://t.co/RuJp8HqlAA

With the @Space_Station Expedition 74 mission soon coming to an end, we realized we had been a bit remiss in capturing portraits of our full crew. It has been an honor and a privilege (and yes, A LOT of fun!) serving with these exceptional humans for the past 5 months. So many wonderful memories! Today our crew will grow by 3 as we welcome Pyotr, Anna and @astro_anil, and in just a couple weeks, we will say goodbye to Sergey, Sergei, and @Astro_ChrisW to commence our portion of Expedition 75.

Using our special spacewalk drill to install one of the struts for the mounting brackets, as captured by @astro_anil. And look, all of you are in this photo with me as well (Earth!)! https://t.co/4YAZeuLxzC

A whole new world, volume up! That’s me on the tip of the @csa_asc Canadarm in last week’s spacewalk. The ground team dubbed it the Disney Land ride, given the long trajectory of motion from one worksite to the next. This IRL version of space mountain certainly delivered. At times I faced away from the @Space_Station, not able to see any of its parts, nor that of the arm. It felt as if I was simply levitating above the majestic blue gem we call planet Earth.

My favorite mini fig 🤖 Building these blocks in space while my 3.5yo builds the same set on Earth. 🌍 Separated by 250 miles, yet connected like our bricks. I deal with floating, wandering micro bricks in microgravity (gray tape ftw!), while her dad deals with the real danger of finding rogue pieces with his bare feet. We built this set together, block by block. We can’t always share a room to be together, but we can share a common mission. How do you stay close to your kids when you travel for work? Let me know your best long-distance parenting tips below.👇🏽 Special thanks to Kathy Hirsh-Pasek for the inspiration!

- What is Jessica Meir's engagement rate on X?
- Jessica Meir (@Astro_Jessica) has an engagement rate of 0.421%, based on the median interactions across 12 original posts from the last 30 days against 269,078 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
- Is that a good engagement rate?
- At 0.421%, Jessica Meir sits above the 50th percentile of the 66,128 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
- Does @Astro_Jessica have real engagement?
- Its engagement rate beats 85% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (6,874 accounts), which puts it in the top quarter for its size group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
- When does @Astro_Jessica post?
- Most posts go out around 16:00 UTC, and Sunday is its busiest day, at roughly 0.83 posts per day across the measured window.
