Vidit Gujrathi engagement report
@viditchess - 140K followers on X
Measured over 16 original posts from a 30-day window, last computed on September 27, 2026.
Engagement
A typical post picks up 238 interactions against 140K followers, an engagement rate of 0.17%. Measured over 16 original posts, its engagement rate beats 66% of 16,409 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. Posts are seen about 26K times each, and 0.903% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 18.8% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 1.4 post a day over the last 30 days, with activity on roughly 77% of days. Most posts go out around 15:00 UTC, and Wednesday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 16 posts sampled, 75% carry an image or video, 6% are part of a thread and 25% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 4.5K interactions, about 19x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #techmgcl, #beyondthemove, #globalchessleague.

Compared with accounts its own size
Vidit Gujrathi's engagement rate beats 66% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (16,409 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 8 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.
On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 41% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.
Where this sits in the catalog
At 0.17%, Vidit Gujrathi sits above the 50th percentile of the 166,440 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the above the median band, which runs 0.13% to 0.612%.

Posting timing
This account posts most often around 15:00 UTC, and Wednesday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

Formats this account uses
Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.
| Format | This account | Catalog effect | 95% interval | Accounts behind it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Image or video | 75% of posts | +111% | +108% to +115% | 34K |
| Outbound link | 25% of posts | -41% | -42% to -40% | 32K |
| Typical length | - | no effect | -2% to -1% | 42K |
- 75% of this account's sampled posts carry an image or video. Across the catalog, posts with an image or video run 111% above the same accounts' other posts.
- 25% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts.
- Its average post runs 209 characters, which falls in the 180 - 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts of 180 to 280 characters match the same accounts' other posts almost exactly.
These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

The best surprise I received in recent times. Few days ago, in Bangalore, I was playing in Global chess league & immediately from there I had to fly to Uzbekistan for Olympiad. It was on the day of Ganesh Chaturthi & I was dearly missing Bappa & home. On that day, the hotel staff at ITC Windsor (Mohit & Ankit) had this beautiful surprise ready! Made me smile ear to ear ♥️ Ganpati Bappa Morya! 🙏

Having a terrible experience at the @FIDE_chess 2026 Olympiad. The team landed 5 hours ago at Samarkand airport. The team still haven’t been allotted rooms, with absolutely no clarity on when it’ll be allotted.

Chess rating system worked well for many years but now it’s not the most accurate measure of current strength. It needs a revival imho. For example: if Arjun & Praggnanandha play a match, and Pragg gets all 10 games as White, the rating will be calculated on equal terms, whereas in reality the odds of matches change drastically as White has significant advantage in long run. That’s just one obvious weakness. No effects of Inactivity is another one.

Happy Independence Day to my fellow Indians! It’s always been a matter of great pride for me to represent India. I feel lucky to be born in this wonderful land with such deep & unique cultural history and heritage 🇮🇳 https://t.co/bFpefij7Jk

Two Indians have raised ₹1,000 crore to build a home robot. Had to read that twice! I've always admired people who take risks and build cool stuff. It's much harder than it looks. And when an Indian does it in a domain India has rarely been known for, you feel this weird pride. Vishy sir did that for chess. Single-handedly. He made an entire country take it seriously. I probably wouldn't have a career without that. I found out about Matic and went down a bit of a rabbit hole. The founders, Mehul and Navneet, built a gesture app called Flutter (YC-backed, sold to Google), then worked on Nest, and then, because apparently that wasn't hard enough, decided to build a robot company nearly 9 years ago! The task is almost boring. It cleans your floors, and that's the point. There's no software patch for a spilled cup of coffee. They just launched Cues. You point at the spill and say "Hey Matic, clean this." We've seen Indian founders build massive software companies. But $115M for physical technology feels different. I don't know if this is the beginning of Indian domination in global hardware. But it would be pretty damn cool if it was. Mehul, when can I get my hands on the Matic? 😂

Unfortunately, Qwen3.8 Flash NVFP4 does NOT fit on a single DGX Spark. NVFP4 weights are ~135 GB. Will require 2x DGX Sparks.

- What is Vidit Gujrathi's engagement rate on X?
- Vidit Gujrathi (@viditchess) has an engagement rate of 0.17%, based on the median interactions across 16 original posts from the last 30 days against 140,425 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
- Is that a good engagement rate?
- At 0.17%, Vidit Gujrathi sits above the 50th percentile of the 166,440 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
- Does @viditchess have real engagement?
- Its engagement rate beats 66% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (16,409 accounts), which puts it in the middle of its size range group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
- When does @viditchess post?
- Most posts go out around 15:00 UTC, and Wednesday is its busiest day, at roughly 1.4 posts per day across the measured window.
