Early reading. We have captured 5 original posts for this account, below the 8 we require before treating a median as settled. The numbers above describe what we have seen so far, not a finished profile of the account.

A typical post picks up 46 interactions against 660K followers, an engagement rate of 0.007%. Posts are seen about 6.9K times each, and 0.668% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 1.04% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 0.2 posts a day over the last 30 days, though only 20% of days saw any activity at all. Most posts go out around 07:00 UTC, and Sunday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 5 posts sampled, 100% carry an image or video and 40% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 1.7K interactions, about 36x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #covid19, #ebola, #emergencies. Only 5 original posts have been captured so far, fewer than the 8 posts we want behind a median before treating it as settled. Read the figures above as an early measurement of this account, not as a finished profile of it.

Posting timing

This account posts most often around 07:00 UTC, and Sunday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

Formats this account uses

Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.

  • 100% of this account's sampled posts carry an image or video. Across the catalog, posts with an image or video run 111% above the same accounts' other posts.
  • 40% of its posts carry a link off X. Across the catalog, posts with an outbound link run 41% below the same accounts' other posts, so a large share of this account's output sits in the weakest bucket we measure.
  • Its average post runs 995 characters, which falls in the over 280 characters band. Across the catalog, posts over 280 characters run 15% above the same accounts' other posts.

These are catalog-wide differences applied to this account's own posting mix, not a measurement of how each format performs for this account specifically. We keep one median per account, not one per format per account, so the second thing is not something this data can tell you.

I am pleased to share my new paper, “From Nonalignment to Multialignment in the Emerging Global Order: Options for Nigeria as a Middle Power,” recently published by the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at @Kennedy_School as part of its wider Middle Powers Project examining 13 countries. The paper reflects on Nigeria’s place in a rapidly changing global order and the choices we must make to remain relevant and influential. Nigeria has the demographic weight, economic potential, diplomatic reach and cultural influence to play a consequential role in shaping regional and global affairs. Our history of leadership in ECOWAS, the African Union, peacekeeping and multilateral diplomacy provides a strong foundation on which to build. However, influence abroad ultimately rests on strength at home. Our ability to translate these considerable assets into sustained global influence will depend on how successfully we address our security, economic and institutional challenges. In an increasingly multipolar world, Nigeria must be guided by strategic autonomy and a clear understanding of its national interest. This means engaging constructively with different centres of global power, strengthening our partnerships with other middle powers and ensuring that Africa retains a meaningful voice in shaping the emerging international order. I hope the paper contributes to the continuing conversation about Nigeria’s place in the world and the kind of strategic statecraft required to realise its considerable potential. On my visit to Ekiti, I spent some time with Pa Deji Fasuan and had another opportunity to reflect and learn from his inspiring life journey, including his years as a development economist and civil servant. We also revisited the ups and downs of his time as Chairman of the Committee that campaigned for the creation of Ekiti State, a dream realised in 1996. Spending time with him is always a lesson in humility and history. I remain grateful for his wisdom and example.

One of the greatest privileges of public service is seeing young people whom we invested in years ago go on to fulfil their potential. This morning, I received the wonderful news that Kayode Adeniyi has been awarded the prestigious Shawki Saad PhD Scholarship at Imperial College London @imperialcollege. Awarded to just one candidate each year, it is an exceptional achievement. When I recently had lunch with Kayode, he reminded me that his first encounter with a laptop was one he received while in secondary school through our education intervention in Ekiti. Today, that early exposure has blossomed into a remarkable journey in artificial intelligence at one of the world’s leading universities. I am equally delighted by the continued success of Dr Tosin Durodola, who also benefitted from those same investments in education as a student in Ekiti. Tosin recently completed his PhD at the University of Edinburgh @EdinburghUni on a fully funded scholarship, graduating without corrections, and has now taken up a postdoctoral Research Associate position at King’s College London @KingsCollegeLon. His journey is another reminder of what can happen when talent is matched with opportunity. For me, these achievements reaffirm a conviction I have always held. Investments in education rarely produce instant results, but when they are sustained and combined with the determination of young people, they yield dividends that endure for generations. Congratulations, Kayode and Tosin. You have made your families, your schools, Ekiti State, and Nigeria proud. I look forward to celebrating many more milestones as you continue to distinguish yourselves on the global stage.

Today marks one year since the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari. He was a man of conviction whose perseverance shaped his remarkable political journey. Despite repeated setbacks, he never abandoned his belief in democratic leadership or his commitment to the Nigerian project. Those who worked closely with him also came to know a disciplined, principled, and patriotic leader whose intentions were always based on service to the nation. May Allah (SWT) grant him Aljannatul Firdaus and continue to comfort his family and all who mourn him.

It was a delight to join our party faithful and the good people of Ekiti at the grand rally in support of Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s @biodunaoyebanji re-election. The massive turnout and enthusiasm on display reflected what many of us already know. Governor Oyebanji has earned the trust and confidence of Ekiti people through his humility, inclusiveness, and commitment to development. I have always maintained that leadership is ultimately about service to the people. I am pleased that he has remained focused on that responsibility while preserving the unity and stability that are essential for progress. As we approach the election, I urge all our supporters to remain peaceful, focused, and committed to the values that have distinguished our party over the years. Ekiti must continue on the path of progress.

It was a delight to join party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters at the APC/BAO Governorship Campaign Flag-Off in Ado Ekiti. Seeing the broad coalition of leaders and members come together in support of Governor Biodun Oyebanji @biodunaoyebanji was reassuring. It speaks to the strength of the foundation we have built over the years and the shared understanding that unity remains our greatest asset as a party. Governor Oyebanji has, in many respects, justified the confidence reposed in him. His steady leadership, inclusive approach, and focus on development have helped consolidate the progress we set in motion. I am particularly pleased that the values of cohesion, continuity, and service to the people remain central to his administration. At the same time, it is important to remind ourselves that the strength of our party has always rested on discipline, mutual respect, and fidelity to our collective ideals. We must continue to guard and strengthen the structures that have sustained our party over time. As we approach the election, our focus must remain clear. We owe it to the people of Ekiti to stay united, deepen our engagement at the grassroots, and build on the trust that has been earned. The objective extends beyond victory at the polls to sustaining purposeful governance for the benefit of our people.

Bisi and I attended Easter Sunday Mass at St Martin’s Catholic Church in Isan Ekiti. Easter reminds us of the death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and the triumph of life over death, light over darkness, and hope over despair. His sacrifice and resurrection remain a powerful lesson in love, selflessness, and forgiveness. As we celebrate, may we renew our commitment to peace, unity, and compassion in our communities and beyond. Happy Easter to you and your family.
