A typical post picks up 29 interactions against 321K followers, an engagement rate of 0.009%. Measured over 83 original posts, its engagement rate beats 24% of 15,519 tracked accounts of a similar size. That is a reason to look at how the audience behaves - reply depth, saves, whether the followers are recent - rather than a conclusion about it on its own. Posts are seen about 8.3K times each, and 0.347% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 2.60% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 3.3 posts a day over the last 30 days, with activity on almost every day in the window. Most posts go out around 12:00 UTC, and Sunday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 83 posts sampled, 98% carry an image or video. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 585 interactions, about 20x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #jmpd, #saferjoburg, #joburgroadsafety.

Compared with accounts its own size

Jo'burg Metro Police Department - JMPD's engagement rate beats 24% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (15,519 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 9 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.

On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 21% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.

Where this sits in the catalog

At 0.009%, Jo'burg Metro Police Department - JMPD sits above the 10th percentile of the 157,102 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the bottom 25% band, which runs below 0.022%.

Formats this account uses

Its own posting mix on the left, and what each of those formats does across every account we track on the right. Only formats where the effect clears our publish test appear here, so an empty row is a format we could not measure rather than one that does nothing.

DON’T TURN A PAVEMENT INTO A RESTAURANT! Pavements are public spaces intended for pedestrians not for operating restaurants, food outlets or other businesses without the required authorisation. #JMPD is reminding businesses & informal traders that City of Johannesburg by-laws regulate trading & the use of public spaces. Operating a business on a pavement without the necessary permit or authorisation is unlawful & may result in enforcement action & the impoundment of goods or equipment, in accordance with applicable by-laws. Businesses must operate from lawful premises & traders must comply with the applicable municipal requirements. Keep pavements clear!!! Keep pedestrians safe!!! Know and follow the City’s by-laws!!! #JoburgByLaws #BuyaMthethoManjeNamhlanje

TRAFFIC ADVISORY FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE DATE: 06 SEPTEMBER | 14H05 LOCALIZED FLOODING AND TRAPPED VEHICLES AT SIEMERT ROAD & CURRY STREET, DOORNFONTEIN, JOHANNESBURG The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) advises all motorists to exercise extreme caution across the City due to persistent heavy rainfall, wet road surfaces, and severe localised flooding. Currently, localised flooding has been reported at Siemert Road and Currey Street, Doornfontein. Multiple vehicles have become submerged and stuck in high water at this location. JMPD officers are on-scene managing traffic flow, assisting stranded motorists, and actively diverting vehicles away from the flooded road. Motorists heading toward these locations are being diverted onto alternative routes. Avoid the area entirely where possible. If you encounter submerged roads or high standing water, turn around immediately. Stalled vehicles block emergency response access and present severe safety hazards. Drive well below the speed limit, maintain an extended following distance, and keep the headlights switched on. Follow all temporary barricades, road closures, and instructions from JMPD officers directing traffic on site. Road users who encounter stranded vehicles, dangerous obstructions, or rising water levels are urged to report them straight away to the City of Johannesburg's Emergency Call Centre: 011 375 5911 ENDS Issued by the Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department Communications Unit #SaferJoburg #JoburgRoadSafety #JHBTraffic

While conducting crime prevention patrols, #JMPD TRU officers were approached by a member of the public at the corner of Beatrice & Golden Highway in Lenasia South. The motorist informed the officers that he had been hijacked the previous day along Provincial Road & Golden Highway in Lenasia. He further advised that he had spotted his hijacked vehicle entering the Magson Manor residential area. The officers immediately followed up on the information provided, which led them to a house where the vehicle was found. A woman was found at the property & upon searching the premises, officers recovered the stolen motor vehicle. The victim was brought to the scene & positively identified the vehicle as his. The vehicle was subsequently seized & booked in at the Lenasia SAPS pound. During the search of the premises, officers also recovered a SAPS uniform which the woman could not account for. She was taken in for further questioning. While officers continued searching for the other suspects, members of the community alerted them after spotting the main suspect. A foot chase ensued, resulting in the apprehension of one male suspect. A second suspect, who was allegedly linked to the hijacking, later handed himself over to the police. The suspects were detained at Lenasia South SAPS where a case of possession of suspected stolen property was opened. #JoburgRoadSafety #BuyaMthethoManjeNamhlanje #SaferJoburg

What is Jo'burg Metro Police Department - JMPD's engagement rate on X?
Jo'burg Metro Police Department - JMPD (@JoburgMPD) has an engagement rate of 0.009%, based on the median interactions across 83 original posts from the last 30 days against 320,982 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
Is that a good engagement rate?
At 0.009%, Jo'burg Metro Police Department - JMPD sits above the 10th percentile of the 157,102 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
Does @JoburgMPD have real engagement?
Its engagement rate beats 24% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (15,519 accounts), which puts it in the bottom quarter for its size group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
When does @JoburgMPD post?
Most posts go out around 12:00 UTC, and Sunday is its busiest day, at roughly 3.27 posts per day across the measured window.
