1976年、東京都出身。四肢欠損というパンチの効いた身体で誕生。幼少期より電動車椅子で疾走。スーパーヘビー級の障害にもかかわらず普通教育を受けて育ち、早稲田大学に進学。初の著書『五体不満足』が戦後４位となるベストセラーに。以降、小学校教諭、東京都教育委員、保育園経営、ニュースキャスターなど何足もの草鞋を履いて活動中。
