Extraordinaria reunión en la sede de la Presidencia en Barranquilla con algunos de los empresarios más importantes del país: Jaime y Gabriel Gilinski, Alejandro Santo Domingo, Luis Carlos Sarmiento, Fuad Char, Juan Carlos Mora, César Caicedo y Miguel Cortés. Les agradecí su decidido y solidario apoyo en estos momentos tan difíciles. Han aportado recursos y ayudas muy valiosas que serán fundamentales para la reconstrucción del país. Le pedí a Luis Carlos Sarmiento, que lidera el Grupo Aval; a Jaime y Gabriel Gilinski, dueños del Banco GNB Sudameris; y a Miguel Cortés, presidente del Grupo Bolívar, al que pertenece Davivienda, que redujeran al 8 % efectivo anual la tasa para los créditos de vivienda de los damnificados por el terremoto, durante toda la vida del crédito. Accedieron. Mi agradecimiento por esta decisión, que representa un alivio real para miles de familias colombianas. Además, acordamos visitar juntos el Chocó el próximo 7 de septiembre para diseñar un plan integral de recuperación y transformación del departamento que permita llevarle, de una vez por todas, el progreso, la inversión y el desarrollo que durante tantos años le han sido negados. Iniciamos formalmente, desde Quibdó y Buenaventura, la reconstrucción de Colombia. Dos ciudades golpeadas por la tragedia y que hoy se convierten en punto de partida para levantar nuestra nación. Colombia no puede consolidar la Patria Milagro sin su gente valiente, resiliente y decidida a salir adelante. Las heridas y las ausencias que deja esta tragedia permanecerán para siempre en nuestra memoria. Pero Colombia no se quedará detenida en el dolor ni en la desesperanza.
