An electric, awe-inspiring atmosphere in Jadavpur today as more than 10,000 proud Citizens came together with one voice to chant the immortal, complete verses of ‘Vande Mataram’ in devotion to Maa Bharati. Braving the monsoon rain, the Sea of Patriots on the streets, holding the National Tricolour high, proved once again that the soil of West Bengal remains deeply rooted in Nationalism, devotion and reverence for our Motherland. Standing amidst the resounding energy of thousands, holding our sacred Tiranga, filled my heart with immense pride and humility. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the Organizers and every single person who made this historic congregation a reality. I was deeply touched by the overwhelming affection from the people, the sacred blessings from respected Saints and the warmth of Sisters who tied Rakhi on my wrist. The spirit of Rishi Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay’s eternal song continues to guide our resolve. West Bengal will always stand resolute to protect the pride, heritage and integrity of Bharat Mata. On 16th August, 1946, our beloved Kolkata plunged into a horrific abyss of violence and bloodshed, forever etched in our collective memory as "Direct Action Day" and "The Great Calcutta Killings." This date marks a dark and tragic chapter in our history, where communal hatred was unleashed by the then regime, claiming thousands of innocent lives. I bow my head in solemn remembrance of all those who perished during those calamitous days. Their suffering and the magnitude of loss must never be forgotten. Our primary mission is clear: driving rapid industrial growth to ensure our youth no longer have to leave our State in search of livelihoods. The Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) has received concerning videos and photographic representations through the CM’s Grievance Cell from conscientious Students of Jadavpur University, reporting instances of objectionable, sociopathic, violent and Anti-National wall graffiti & drawings inside the Arts Division Boys Hostel premises. Educational Institutions are sacred spaces of learning, academic excellence and nation-building. Under no circumstances will Campus premises be permitted to be used as platforms for spreading deranged propaganda and Anti-India sentiment. I urge Vice Chancellor, Jadavpur University, Principal Secretary Higher Education Department and other competent Authorities to initiate an immediate inquiry into the matter, firstly by conducting an on-ground physical verification of the Arts Division Boys Hostel area to ascertain the existence of these inappropriate wall graffiti and if found then proceed to identify the individuals involved. The West Bengal Government strictly follow Zero Tolerance Policy towards Anti National Activities anywhere in the State, especially in Campuses of Educational Institutions. The concerned Department and University Administration must ensure stringent compliance and the preservation of academic integrity. If the presence of such Anti-National messaging and deranged psychotic drawings is verified, immediate steps must be taken to remove the graffiti, fix accountability and initiate strict administrative and legal action against those responsible.
