Ich empfehle, den Artikel bis zum Ende zu lesen. „Ohne konkrete Namen zu nennen wurde Drosten kürzlich zu Beginn eines Podcast-Interviews mit der „Zeit“ sogar noch deutlicher in seiner Kritik: „Es hat Personen gegeben, Wissenschaftler, auch in meinem Fach, die sich früh in der Pandemie mit falschen Positionen in der Öffentlichkeit festgelegt haben und es nie geschafft haben, sich selbst zu korrigieren, sondern sich verhärtet haben, argumentativ, damit die Wissenschaft argumentativ verlassen haben und begonnen haben politisch Positionen zu beziehen und politisch zu argumentieren. Und dieses Verwechseln von Politikerrolle und Wissenschaftlerrolle, dieseVerführung als ein Wissenschaftler, der vielleicht sich gerne im öffentlichen Licht sieht, in der Kamera sieht, dann populär, sogar populistisch, vielleicht parteipolitisch zu argumentieren, das hat das Vertrauen in die Wissenschaft zerstört.“ Nach den jüngsten Auseinandersetzungen auf Twitter dürfte klar sein, dass Drosten hier auch Jonas Schmidt-Chanasit mit dieser ebenso grundlegenden wie bedenkenswerten Kritik adressiert hat. Über Drostens deutliche Kritik an fehlgeleiteter Wissenschaftskommunikation bis hin zu gezielter, interessengeleiteter Desinformation wird hoffentlich bald noch ausführlicher Gelegenheit sein, öffentlich wie auch unter den Expert:innen zu diskutieren.
