Brian Shannon, CMT ⚓️ engagement report
@alphatrends - 428K followers on X
Measured over 27 original posts from a 30-day window, last computed on August 30, 2026.
Engagement
A typical post picks up 185 interactions against 428K followers, an engagement rate of 0.043%. Measured over 27 original posts, its engagement rate beats 54% of 3,792 tracked accounts of a similar size, which puts it in the middle of its size range rather than at either end. Posts are seen about 22K times each, and 0.852% of those impressions turn into an interaction. That is about 5.07% of the follower count, which is the gap between an audience on paper and an audience in a timeline. Posting runs at about 1.2 post a day over the last 30 days, though only 30% of days saw any activity at all. Most posts go out around 20:00 UTC, and Friday is the busiest day of the week. Of the 27 posts sampled, 89% carry an image or video and 11% link out. The account's strongest tracked post pulled 865 interactions, about 4.7x its own typical post. Recurring topics include #bitcoin, #investing, #levelsofinterest.

Compared with accounts its own size
Brian Shannon, CMT ⚓️'s engagement rate beats 54% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (3,792 accounts, accounts of similar size (decile 7 of 10)). A percentile is spread evenly by construction, so 50 really is the middle of that group and 90 really is its top tenth.
On engagement per impression rather than per follower it beats 46% of the same group. When those two numbers disagree, the gap is about how far its posts travel rather than how people react to them.
Where this sits in the catalog
At 0.043%, Brian Shannon, CMT ⚓️ sits above the 25th percentile of the 36,759 accounts in this comparison. That places it in the below the median band, which runs 0.012% to 0.08%.

This account posts most often around 20:00 UTC, and Friday is its busiest day of the week. The bars below are the catalog-wide pattern, with this account's own busiest slot marked. They do not show how this account performs at each hour: we keep one aggregate per account, not one per hour, so that measurement does not exist in our data.

"I knew it, I knew I should have......" That will be the reaction from many traders this afternoon when $NVDA reports earnings. If you think you know then act on it now and accept the risks. If you cannot accept the risk then sit on the sidelines. No one knows what will happen to the markets but the $SPY and $QQQ are coiled up tight and ready to go. Do you: --Buy now in hopes of a gap higher and accept risk they might gap lower? --Wait and miss a gap higher or avoid a gap down? --Have a plan to participate on a gap move tomorrow? Those are questions for each person to answer for themselves. No one is qualified to tell you what you should do

This possibility concerns me for $SMH From failed moves come fast moves in the opposite direction Failure at DECLINING 50sma Measured move potential down to 513 would line up approximately with YTD VWAP at 506 will discuss in wknd video https://t.co/uabwnP03hv

This is not a bearish call on #Bitcoin IF this (red circle on hourly) turns to a failed break past last week high it could lead to some deeper profit taking down towards the conjunction of the 🟠YTD VWAP and the 🟣VWAP from the beginning of this thrust higher. This would be a normal, healthy and welcome pullback. I would be looking at that area as an opportunity zone.

I believe part of the reason for the current market weakness is the "Leopold Hangover" A firm like Citadel takes the risk of Situational Awareness (SA) positions at an extreme selloff level from a margin call. As the market rallies, Citadel decides which stocks they want to hold or redistribute the risk (sell the stocks) back to the market. It is the prudent thing for them to reduce their risk into strength. Other firms know which stocks Citadel picked up in the fire sale and identify the weak ones to short those names in hopes of participating in the continued selling. This type of front running is what pushed Situational Awareness to sell at rock bottom prices. Citadel knows how to manage risk and they will not get run over like SA did, they will likely turn out very well in this scenario. - What is Brian Shannon, CMT ⚓️'s engagement rate on X?
- Brian Shannon, CMT ⚓️ (@alphatrends) has an engagement rate of 0.043%, based on the median interactions across 27 original posts from the last 30 days against 428,454 followers. Replies, reposts and quote-posts of other people are excluded from that sample.
- Is that a good engagement rate?
- At 0.043%, Brian Shannon, CMT ⚓️ sits above the 25th percentile of the 36,759 accounts in this comparison. Those comparison accounts are all large ones, because our scanning cadence is weighted towards big accounts, so this is a ranking among peers of similar scale rather than a ranking across X.
- Does @alphatrends have real engagement?
- Its engagement rate beats 54% of the tracked X accounts closest to it in follower count (3,792 accounts), which puts it in the middle of its size range group. Ranking inside a size band matters because engagement rate falls as accounts grow, so a raw rate would mostly re-measure the follower count. It is a starting point for a look at follower quality, not a verdict on it.
- When does @alphatrends post?
- Most posts go out around 20:00 UTC, and Friday is its busiest day, at roughly 1.17 posts per day across the measured window.
