About
The Ramblings of a telescope maker... 15 years ago my Father bought me a 1940's Myford lathe. I didn't really know what to make with it, other than chips! I had always been interested in Astronomy and had a cheap Chinese telescope but decide to set about making my own refracting telescope. Once I made this I was bitten by the bug and have now made several telescopes and associated astronomical instruments. One of my scopes has even been featured on the BBC's The Sky at Night program. (check out my website for a link). I now have a full workshop with a Harrison M300 lathe and a Bridgeport Series 1 milling machine. I started making Youtube videos to show customers how their parts were made, but now enjoy it in its own right.
