About
This is a sailing as well as a prepper project. But I really have no intent to live off-grid on a regular basis. But I would like to experiment with the technologies of prepper related living like renewable energy, Ham radio, and just general maritime skills. My boat is not stocked for off grid living. But all the challenges of off grid can be found on a sailboat which is probably one of the most self-sustaining homes possible. Travelling mostly by wind, generating power by solar, and basically being efficient with the use of energy. Ham radio also has challenges on a sailboat. Being low power, this is not a place for 100W HF radio transmission. It is mostly QRP. So we're going to focus on that. Additionally, even basic maritime (boating) skills are important for survival and being a long time sailor and experienced yacht racer, I can share interesting aspects of that. I'll be doing a lot of boat fixing, and general problem solving related to my boat Kind of Blue.
